Beth isn't the best at comforting people especially when the problem is about money-
She used to have friends who were not from rich families when she went to the playgrounds a lot.
It was easy for her to make friends because of her bright personality and the fact that she had enough money to buy snacks for everyone.
But gradually, it was obvious that she was losing connections with her friends, especially when it was getting too clear that they had different understandings of money.
When Beth offered to pay for everyone's trip to a theme park, some of her friends called her a "rich bitch" who didn't understand the most basic human interaction and ended their relationships with her.
That was the reason why Beth became hesitant to make friends with people who didn't come from similar backgrounds.
She almost shouted out "Let me give you money" when Tim explained his problem to her.
