Lynn never knew that she could be loved.
She knew that her father wanted to have his own army of sons, so even though she was the only daughter, she was not loved by him.
When she thought that was not something that she could change- she was not loved because she was a girl- Joyce showed up and was praised all the time by her father.
"It was not fair," Lynn thought to herself again and again but there was no way that she could have fixed it.
When it was time for her to explore love, all the people around her thought that her personality was too rough, her family was too complicated, or that her appearance was not good enough to be seen as beautiful.
While Joyce could be doing nothing she would be complimented for how good she looked.
Life had not been fair for Lynn.
She wanted to pretend to be a boy when she was younger- study hard, and be the best business person this family could ever have.
