Amy could only find an old newspaper in the office- she could easily go and look for a book or something somewhere else but if Lynn was really going to receive more medicine or treatments soon, she rather not wait.
Luckily no one was looking after Lynn at that point- she had been quiet but complacent for the past few days and they thought her condition was controlled by the heavy medicine that clearly worked.
