Chapter 20 - Dinosaur, T-Rex

[You have cast Time Freeze, time will stop for 10 seconds starting from now.]

"Ha! Now let's see who wins! Hehe!" Gaseo exclaimed with a chuckle.

WHOOSH!!!

SPRINT!!!

To catch up with the other players, Gaseo sprinted at his maximum speed for 10 seconds. Initially, he was approximately 150 meters behind those toxic players. However, the situation reversed, and he was now ahead of them by at least 100 meters.

'Keke! I can't wait to see their reaction once time resumes.' Gaseo smirked.

[Time Freeze has ended. Time will now resume.]

[Time Freeze's Cooldown: 65 seconds remaining.]

The moment time resumed, the toxic players became confused as they noticed Gaseo had suddenly vanished and was nowhere to be seen.

"Huh? What the heck??"

"Yo, did you see that? Where did that slowpoke go?"

"Yeah, where the hell did he go?"

It took them about half a minute to finally realize that Gaseo was already ahead of them, not behind.

"Whoa! How did slowpoke get so far ahead of us?!"

"N-No fucking way! Did he just teleport or something?!"

"T-Teleportation?!"

Teleportation, one of the most overpowered skills a player could ever attain. It can be considered an S-Rank or Legendary-Tier Skill.

"Man, that's cheating!"

"Lucky bastard! To think that slowpoke actually had Teleportation skill! Ugh, I'm so jealous!"

We all know that Gaseo didn't possess any teleportation skills, but in the eyes of others, it appeared as if he had such a skill.

[Time Freeze's Cooldown: 15 seconds remaining.]

Casting a quick glance behind, Gaseo could see the demons closing in, getting nearer with each passing moment.

ROAARRRR!!!

KRAARRRR!!!

GRAARRRR!!!

Eventually, some players were caught and mercilessly slain by the Demons.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaghhh!!! Someone help m—!!!"

"Nooooooo!!! Don't kill meee!!!"

"Helppppp!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaagrhhh!"

The Tutorial is an unforgiving world; only the strongest survive, while the weak meet their demise.

Even if Gaseo chose to save them now, it wouldn't make any difference because they would still face death in the future when Gaseo is not around to protect them. If a player wants to live, they have to be strong enough to survive on their own, as there is no guarantee that someone could protect them forever. That's why the best approach is to rely on oneself rather than depending on others.

TIME FREEZE!

…

…

…

After using the skill 'Time Freeze' a couple more times, Gaseo finally reached his destination: the dense forest he had been aiming for all along. However, he wasn't the only one who had chosen this forest as a hiding ground; plenty of other players had also come here with the same plan in mind.

Seeing so many players here, Gaseo wasn't too pleased. A hiding place should be quiet with fewer people around; otherwise, it wouldn't be effective.

To prevent overcrowding in this area, players began to venture deeper, spreading out all over the forest.

Little did everyone know that this forest harbored monsters potentially far more dangerous than even the Demon Leaders.

As Gaseo ventured deeper into the forest, he stumbled upon a giant cave. The darkness within it intrigued him; perhaps he could use the dark cave to his advantage and hide from the Demons.

Whether the demons possessed keen sight in the dark remained unknown. Nevertheless, Gaseo wasn't overly concerned, as even if he were to get caught, it's not as though he would face imminent death.

For several hours, Gaseo hid himself in this cave, and so far everything has been going pretty well.

As time passed, Gaseo grew increasingly bored, prompting him to leave the cave and venture outside.

Upon arriving outside the cave's entrance, Gaseo felt a sense of unease as the surrounding area was unusually quiet.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, he noticed something on the ground.

"Whoa, what's this giant footprint on the ground?"

The size of the footprint Gaseo discovered was something he had never encountered in real life before. However, back on Earth, he had seen similar footprints on the internet, specifically from Google search images.

'Hmm, I believe I've seen this type of footprint on the internet before... If I'm not mistaken, is this a T-Rex footprint?'

Out of nowhere:

THUMP!!! THUMP!!! THUMP!!!

The ground started vibrating, almost as if a mini earthquake were occurring.

'Huh? Why is the ground vibrating? Is there an earthquake or something?'

A few hundred meters away from where Gaseo was standing, four players and a group of seven demons could be seen being chased by a massive T-Rex.

Keep in mind, this isn't your normal T-Rex, as the T-Rex in this world can level up and grow stronger like a player. Due to this, it wasn't easy for the players or the Demons to take down the T-Rex. Heck, even if the players and Demons were to work together, they would still lose.

Only the top 100 players or the 10 Demon Leaders could stand a chance against the T-Rex, but for the average players or Demons, it's basically a death sentence.

ROAAAAAARRRR!!!

The T-Rex roared furiously, its frustration evident as it struggled to catch the players or Demons.

Out of curiosity, Gaseo climbed a very tall 185-foot tree to get a better view of his surroundings. From the top of the tree, as he stared down, he could see that toward the east side, countless trees were being knocked down by the T-Rex.

"No way! A T-Rex?! So those giant footprints I saw earlier were real after all! Holy shit!"

Gaseo couldn't believe it. Simultaneously, he was filled with excitement, as his interest in dinosaurs had been ingrained since childhood. The idea that he could finally see them in real life now was simply mind-blowing to him.

Right away, Gaseo climbed down the tree and promptly pursued the T-Rex.

The excitement completely overwhelmed Gaseo, causing him to forget about the danger of facing a T-Rex. In fact, he wouldn't even mind if the T-Rex ate him. It would, of course, be undoubtedly painful, but his desire to see a dinosaur was so strong that he didn't care about the consequences.
