"Young Master, behind you!" The Maid exclaimed.
Jack instantly turned around, but was a step too slow, and he felt a push, then next thing he knows, his face was to the ground, his clothes full of dirt and dust.
"Heh. Looks like not much has changed since we were younger, has it brother?" A mocking voice could be heard from behind Jack. Jack clicked his tongue as he slowly got up and spoke.
"Yeah, nothing changed. Your still the same douchebag you always were." Jack replied, a little pissed.
"Oh lighten up a little, brother. It was just a small push. Not my fault your so damn weak."
"You-" Jack was about to curse him, but his speech was cut off by an elderly voice.
"Jack. Ron. Enough."
"I apologize grandfather!" Ron instantly apologized.
"Sorry grandpa." Jack also apologized, albeit a little unwillingly. He wasn't the one who started it, after all. But avoiding trouble was important, especially now, at such an important time.
"Jack, Ron, you two are the last ones to arrive. Everyone else is waiting inside for you two." The elderly man then led the two of them inside.
Jack's grandfather, Han Turoa, was the current leader of the family, he is a elderly man, around 60 years old. Despite his old age, his physique was very healthy, and he could pass as someone 30 years younger than him. This is thanks to the fact that he is also a cultivator. He has slicked back, black hair, and a large, muscular physique with broad, well defined shoulders, and a toned body. This coupled with his large beard, face scars, and 6 foot 5 height make for a very intimidating appearance.
Ron took from his grandfather, as despite having just turned 18 years old, his physique is far above the normal person. Standing in at 6 foot 4, Ron has well defined muscles, and is quite athletic. Albeit he looks nowhere near as impressive as his grandfather, his appearance is nonetheless rather impressive.
Jack, on the other hand, is about the weakest of his family in this aspect. He has always been the shortest of his brothers, currently standing in at 6 foot 1, and being rather scrawny and bad at fighting. Although 5 months older than his younger brother, Jack has always been bullied by him, hence the pent-up resentment.
Once inside the luxurious hall, that looked more like the inside of a cathedral, Jack could see his other brother and two sisters. All three of them had the same jet black hair as their grandfather, and were similarly tall for their gender.
"About time you had your birthday Ron. Here I thought I would die of old age." One of his sisters, Bella, spoke. She was the third youngest of the family, being 18 years and 9 months old, just behind his the second oldest, his other sister, Naomi, who was 19 and a half years old and his eldest brother Tom, being 20 years old.
"Hmph, you look like you might die of old age, you ugly hag." Ron scoffed.
"You-" Bella's expression turned ugly as she stared daggers at Ron trying to come up with a good comeback. However, before she could, their grandfather started talking.
"My grandchildren. Stop fighting. Although you do not all come from the same parents, you are still half-siblings and cousins, family under the same name! Act as such!" Grandfather Turoa spoke. once the children calmed down, he continued. "Since you are all above 18 years old, that means you can all receive your talent from the Divine Stone. Afterwards, depending on your talent, I will decide where you will be working." After that, Grandpa Turoa led the group through a hallway, before entering a room. Upon entering a room, he went up to a bookshelf, before grabbing a book and lifting it up, causing the entire bookshelf to slide over, revealing a dark and damp passage lit up by torches.
The group of 6 people walked through the dark hallway for a few minutes, until they eventually reached a wooden door guarded by military personnel. Once they saw Grandpa Turoa, the military men opened the door and bowed slightly. Grandpa Turoa nodded his head before entering with the 5 children.
Inside was a large, bright, blue stone hovering above a stone statue of an open hand. The room was just a plain old room made out of stone, covered in dust. However, the bright blue glow was very eye catching.
"Line up. One by one, each of you will approach the stone and grab onto it. Once you touch the stone, it will show you your talent. Your talent will determine how high your future position can be."
Tom, as the oldest of the five children, stepped forward. As soon as he touched the stone, a faint blue glow started spreading across the stone statue, before gathering into the hand and forming a blue glow.
"Above average talent. You have been deemed fit to work for the family." Grandpa Turoa then took a blue pill from his pocket, before handing it to Tom.
"This is a cultivation pill. Use it. Afterwards, you can take over the Blue Spirit Mall." Tom smiled as he heard that. How could he not? The Blue Spirit Mall was one of the top 5 malls in California. (Author note: these buildings don't exist in real life)
"Next." as she heard grand Turoa speak, Naomi moved to touch the Stone
Once she touched it, the stone glowed, and a blue ball of light shot from the Crystal and went straight into Naomi's forehead.
"Inferior talent. You can only work for the family."
"W-what?" Naomi was left with a stunned expression on her face. "Inferior...talent?"
"I'm afraid so. You can work inside the family. The profession...is up to you." Grandpa Turoa spoke indifferently. The way he looked at Naomi also changed, to mild contempt. "Next."
Naomi was left speechless, however, she still backed away and returned to the line.
"Bella, you're next."
Bella moved up and grabbed the stone. Once again, the stone glowed, and a small ball of blue light shot into her head.
"Above average talent. You will inherit the Black Sun Hotel. Oh, and here is a cultivation pill."
"Alright! Nice!" Bella jumped happily back in line.
"Next." This time, it was Jack's turn.
Jack approached the stone, his palms sweating, his heart beating out of his chest.
'If I have the talent to become the head of the family, then I could do anything I want.' He gulped as he thought of Ms. Lusia's figure. A few other women that he had laid his perverted eyes upon over the years also popped into his mind.
Jack placed his hand on the stone.
"Below average talent. Although not as bad as Inferior, it is not that good either. You can inherit a few small shops around the city."
Jack's heart fell to the bottom of his chest when he heard this, his expression turned a little ugly.
'Not even a cultivation pill?' Jack thought bitterly.
"Next."
This time, it was Ron's turn. Ron placed his hand on the crystal, and this time, a bright, shiny light came out, even more so than Tom's and Bella's lights.
"Superior talent, very good! Very good!" Grandpa Turoa grinned. "With this, you should be able to take over the family. Follow me after, I'll give you some more resources so you can cultivate properly." Jack's expression narrowed when he heard this. Actually it was not just his, but Tom's as well.
'Lucky fucking cunt." Jack thought enviously.
"Now, to see you status, look at your arm. There should be a faint blue crystal tattoo on it only you can see. If you focus on it, you can see your status."
Jack did, and soon saw his status.

"Alright. Ron, stay behind, the rest of you can leave." Grandpa Turoa's voice snapped Jack out of his thinking.
Seeing this, Jack and the others left.
"Hey, Jack."
"What is it, Naomi?"
"Do you know what the crystal thing meant when it said 'inferior'?"
"Not sure. Probably means you have to be inferior to have it."
"..." Naomi didn't know how to reply to that, and instead decided to stop asking questions.
Jack, on the other hand, was deep in thought.
'Why do I have such a low talent?'
Frankly, he was a little pissed. His plans to take over the family were stopped before they even started.
'No. There's still hope. There's plenty of way to improve it. The issue is, all those ways are extremely difficult to pull off. For now, I need to see what this shop is all about.
After thinking this, Jack went outside to his limo, to which the maid waited inside.
"Young master Jack. Welcome back. How did it go?"
"It was okay." Jack replied, not feeling too happy. "Let's just go."
"Certainly."
Soon, the duo flew to Last Vegas, before driving downtown to where the shop existed. The location was quite nice, and there was plenty of traffic in the area, making Jack quite hopeful, but when Jack saw the shop, he couldn't help but exclaim.
"What the fuck is this shit?!"
