The next few days passed with pain, suffering and more unpleasant feelings. Lua was fed stale bread that kept him barely alive, and water that could be considered equivalent to sewage water. When frustrated with the Director, Ars would take his frustrations out on Lua, who was already having difficulty surviving under these abhorrent conditions. Despite wanting to blow and kill Ars desperately, he held back from doing so.
He knew that he could absolutely put up a semi-decent fight right now, even if it meant his death. In the best case scenario, he would reveal their location to the Pope and survive long enough for reinforcements to arrive. However, the chance existed that the Director had already assumed Lua had the capacity to do such a thing and had taken precautions just in case. After all, Lua had already displayed power capable of harming a Grade 3 to him.
