Before them, the walls were lined with torches. This area was a dead end, but that didn't mean they had found nothing. At the end of the corridor, there was what seemed like a casket, and three candles placed on top of it.
Etched onto the walls, there was the Lord of Secrets' vertical eye. However, one detail made both of them shiver.
Someone had, after this eye was etched out onto the walls, used red paint to make a huge red 'x' over it. Lua held his breath while Vision looked at the sight. Whoever had made this place their base was seeming more and more like the enemy of the Church, rather than an ally of the Union.
"A targeted attack." Vision said, looking at the sight before them. He was calm, which was abnormal for him, as he would normally go haywire whenever his Lord was insulted.
