It had been around three days since the brutal winter had begun. Fren was absolutely bored out of his mind, and Lua was slowly but surely running out of food to eat. Normally, this much food would have lasted him months, but with Fren eating as much as a wild beast, it was becoming increasingly more difficult to extend their lifespans.
Forget a few months… We'll run out in a few weeks! Lua was seriously concerned about their situation. He had no idea why Fren was even remaining inside - he was practically immune to the cold and could hunt as much as he wished. He was just making the burden on Lua even heavier.
"Can't you survive this winter?" Lua asked, his voice hoarse and heavy with concern. Fren had his pinky finger in his ear, and after hearing Lua, he abruptly stopped what he was doing.
Fren shook his head and replied,
"Just because I can, doesn't mean that I want to. It's still uncomfortable. Cold is cold."
