Lua deboarded the train with hope and glitter in his eyes. The city before him was large and expansive, a fortress city by all means. Just like Anhalt, it still had the antique castle walls. However, these walls were much thicker and protected by mages at all times, which meant they couldn't be pierced by regular shells.
As they got off the train station, they found a soldier clad in a green military uniform. Unlike the unarmoured Northern soldiers, these soldiers actually had steel armour in specific places. For example, they had shoulder pads, knee pads and elbow pads. In addition to that, they wore silver coloured helmets with green feathers.
This was due to the tradition of fighting against beasts. Although armour was useless in human-to-human warfare, that wasn't true against monsters. For a nation whose identity was based around taming the wild beasts, having armour was paramount.
