The coming minutes were a nightmare for the Union. Ahead of them, the Spearheads moved forwards and started firing. And around them, the barbarians famed for their strength started bashing at them from each and every corner. One by one, the famous Armoured Arachnids started losing numbers at every point.
The Church's formation was a 'U', with the Spearheads directly ahead of the Union's forces. They squeezed around them, tightening their grip and trying to encircle them. However, the infantry behind the Armoured Arachnids did their best to keep it from closing - although they weren't a match for the barbarians, their sheer numbers stalled the encirclement from closing.
This was a brilliant manoeuvre by the Church. They had successfully used the fog to hide their strongest forces, and had struck the moment the fog started dissipating even by a bit. The rain and wind did not make it any easier for the attackers, now forced into a retreat.
