To my Dearest Son,
I"m sorry for not writing a proper response until now. Things have been… busy to say the least. I always read every single letter you send, and I'm proud of you for remembering to keep sending them. Though, I'm not entirely sure how much effort you put into them… they've only been getting shorter.
I was bemused to say the least when I heard you had become an international criminal. I'm lucky enough to have enough connections to the point we were unable to avoid investigation, but I'm disappointed in you regardless. What would have you done had the government employed more… unsavoury interrogation techniques?
I'm willing to accept this as a mistake of youth and not intentional negligence. But, remember always that coincidences like this will only take you so far. The next negligence could even cost you your life.
