"Tell me, were you followed?" In a nervous tone, Lua urged Alfred to respond. He knew that the Central Company was far too intelligent and cunning to simply attack someone and then let them go free. This was certainly their ploy to trace them back to the headquarters.
"...We didn't see anyone." Alfred said, however Lua could tell there was uncertainty in his voice. For a few moments, Lua was confused. Alfred was the smartest person he knew, so how could he ignore such an obvious trap?
Cursing, Lua rushed to the exit. He knew that the fight was definitely coming, and when it did, he would prefer to be outside rather than outside, where the injured Nacht was resting. Of course, to get inside, they would need to break the illusion of the forest first. However, if they had been watching for long enough, Lua had no doubts they had managed to figure that out.
