From the corner of the ballroom, Carter observed his younger sister, Ella, as she watched the Holloway couple with barely concealed jealousy. He leaned in, his voice low and cautioning. "If you blow up now, it will mess up our plans."
Ella's jaw tightened, but she managed to maintain her composure. "Don't worry, brother. I'll control myself. I just can't stand that bitch," she spat, her eyes narrowing as they landed on Elara.
Carter's eyes flashed with a knowing look, and he gave a slight nod. "Well, it would be rude if we didn't go and greet them."
Ella let out a barely audible sigh, her discomfort evident. "I wish I didn't have to."
"You don't have a choice," Carter said firmly, his tone brooking no argument.
The siblings approached Vincent and Elara, Carter's expression schooled into a pleasant smile. "Vincent, Elara," he greeted them warmly.
Vincent acknowledged them with a nod. "Carter, Ella."
