Though their injuries paled in comparison to Kiyoshi's, they lingered unconscious for days. Finally, after persistent efforts, Inspector Serizawa secured access to the slumbering suspects.
Recognition flashed across Midori's face as she studied the two captives. "I know them," she stated, her voice hardening with a surge of anger. "They're the ones who abducted me from Ginza."
The impact of her words hung heavy in the air. Inspector Serizawa and Arata met each other's gaze, a shared dread tightening their features.
"So, they are the remnants of the rebel forces."
"Some managed to slip away," Midori confirmed, her voice tight with frustration. "We couldn't hold them. The ones we restrained... they took their own lives. And, speaking of taking things, they're hiding poison pouches in their mouths. Removing them immediately would be wise."
