An awkward hush descended upon the Takigawa mansion as the inhabitants caught sight of Midori returning with Kiyoshi in tow.
The discomfort was palpable, which explained why Kiyoshi chose to wait outside of the mansion, avoiding the daunting prospect of being surrounded by people whom he did not know.
On the other hand, the Takigawa family was not ready to accept visitors.
Shuugo only spared a few words of welcome before he returned to the master bedroom to be alone.
Since it was already late in the night, Grandpa Takigawa allowed Kiyoshi to spend the night in the mansion with a stark warning.
"Unmarried man and woman must not stay in the same chamber," he growled, shaking a finger at both Kiyoshi and Midori. "Kiyoshi-san, feel free to stay in our guest bedroom. Midori-san, behave yourself."
