Feng Shao looked up at Lui Xian who had just been tied and felt quite happy. He wanted to speak of all the grievances he had for him but the knife pressing on his delicate neck stopped him from doing so.
The commander signalled his men for departure and the group started towards the dense, dark forest to the west of Qiu Yu village. At some point the two found themselves walking behind the carriages as they were dragged and guarded to ensure that they were not able to escape.
Although Feng Shao had just been close to death he looked so calm and collected. Lui Xian would here and there glance at him to see if he was pretending or not. But Feng Shao would glare back at him as his scowl would be very evident to Lui Xian's eyes.
"....."
'I take my words back. He is quite something else.' After giving him a last look, he decided to look around to figure out where these man were taking them. They were still meandering deeply in the forest. At times they could see some wild animals hiding from them.
Back at the village, all of the villagers were asleep so no one knew about what had transpired. Hexiu had planned to bake some small cakes for her future beloved. When she went to 'their' house she was surprised to see no one inside.
"Where could they have gone?" She wondered feeling quite antsy.
"Daiyu!" She called for her little helper who was like a sister to her, whilst she walked around the rooms checking to see if everything was alright. She saw some objects scattered all over the ground indicating that there was indeed a a scuffle that took place.
Hexiu then paced toward the opened window. She peeked from inside. Her pretty dough-like eyes scrutinizing the whole area.
"Aaahhhhh!"
She screamed after seeing something on the lawn which was surrounding the whole compound. On the same lawn, a body laid there unmoving as the dust swept over the clothes that were worn to the point where you couldn't distinguish the colour on them.
She dropped the plate in her hands and then rushed to the door before heading to the place the body lay.
Hexiu hurriedly picked up a red umbrella with cherry blossoms flower surrounding it, looking at every corner of it to see if it had been damaged in any way.
"Oowww... thank heavens it's in a good state." Yesterday, she had accidentallly spilled water on it and brought it outside to dry. But she forgot to bring it into the house. And niw when she found it in tact, she was very happy. With all the strong winds that happened in the morning, she was really glad.
At last her eyes fell on the man on the ground.
".....Who is this?"
She looked at the shoes that were worn wrongly and then at the face of the person that was buried behind his scruffy hair. Hexiu noticed that the person was drunk. For he was lying with his front facing the ground and the smell of alcohol was pretty strong.
"Grandpa Feng? Why are you sleeping outside."
She kept her umbrella at a safe place and then picked up a stick before moving away the hair covering his face.
'Poke poke.'
She gave several pokes before hearing a groan. The drunk man raised his head feeling annoyed from the continuous pokes.
"Who the hell wants to die early this ...morni...ng....zzzz."
He cursed and then fell right back to sleep. Hexiu didn't know what to do.
"Elder Sister I heard you scream what happened?" She turned to see Daiyu with an adult behind her.
"Good morning sir I need your help in lifting this person." Luckily the man agreed knowing very well she wouldn't be able to carry him alone. San Woo helped them out before relaying the message that had been sent by the Lan household.
"Many thanks to you."
San Woo just smiled. His gazes wandering around the room.
"What brings you here this early."
"I almost forgot Lord Lan wanted me to tell you...."
"Stop!! I hope Grandfather isn't the one who sent you here to tell me to return home. If it is this I am sorry but I have to deny you on this."
San Woo remained silent then he asked, "Ummm What happened to him? What was he even doing outside?"
"I don't know and Doctor Feng and Ah Xian are missing."
"Who is Ah Xian?"
".... that's.... do I even have to say it."
Hexiu clapped her mouth in her mind and then she sent Daiyu out to get water for Old Feng to bath.
Meanwhile, Lui Xian had just been locked in a cage just outside the entrance of a wide huge cave on some mountain. Feng Shao had been put in the same place but he was seated quietly not fidgeting like Lui Xian was busy doing.
"Stop it. Sit down and wait can you." Feng Shao had reached his limit and wanted to throw him outside if doing that was possible.
"What's wrong with you? Can't you see I am thinking of a possible way to get out of here?"
"We wouldn't be here if not because of you."
"What did you say?"
"If you hadn't come to the village I wouldn't be in this place. You brought them there. You should be thankful that everyone is safe."
"You're blaming me now. What did I do? Did I call them there? Why do you hate me so much? I believe I have never done anything to you that I can remember. Tell me why?"
Lui Xian spoke the last sentence using a low tone. He moved to stand in front of Feng Shao.
"You want to know why? I just don't like you. You invaded our place and you feed on my food without providing anything. I can just say you are not likeable at all. There I said it what can you do about it."
Lui Xian just kept quiet before turning and sitting at the other corner of the cage.
