Chapter 1 - Prologue

Prologue:

They say that curiosity killed the cat. There is no better saying in the world, no in the entire history of mankind that doesn't fit the current situation that we find ourselves in. What can I even say? Truly in man's pursuit of knowledge, have we pushed the boundaries in humanities foolishness of what we want to learn more about the reality that we live in.

There were those that said to find other forms of life we need to ascend through the heavens. Look towards the star to look for more life and other horizons. However, there were also those that said to look down below our very own feet. That was the joke after all, as mankind seems to know more about our solar system than our own oceans. As the fact was humans have only discovered only about ten percent of our ocean in the late twentieth second century.

So, what did we human thought of to do? Use our most recent founding and latest innovations to further explore the earth and its oceans. The first few years' results were almost fruitless. Though that exact wording would be false, for there were many minor discoveries made. Just not the mind-boggling enterprise that the investors had initial sought. The team that I somehow found myself in was on its last legs. If the lead scientists couldn't find a satisfactory find, one worthy of the investments the project was over.

Then as if an answer from the heavens, their prayers were answered. Near the base of the ocean within the Bermuda triangle. They had found it, a promising lead. Detection of an unusual source of radioactive energy. Deep with a cave tunnel system then at the end we found it a wall of a gravitational-electrostatic "membrane" anomaly. And like the mythological pandora's box we opened it. Now it cannot be closed back. The secrets held within were unleashed, withier or not humanity is ready for it or not is out of the question.

One can only hope humanity is ready.
