Victor was adamant about killing Jaffery and he was using his hand as a knife because his weapon, the scythe, it would have been a little tricky for him to use it at this point.
On the other hand, Malam's face darkened when he realized what Victor was about to do and it was already too late for him to stop it. He could not jump to action and stop what was about to happen.
'This was not how things were supposed to unfold. It seems there is something wrong with this Victor. Something that can cut itself from the strings of fate is not something that one should take lightly.' Malam who had now stood up was utterly shocked and confused.
'It is upon him now.' Malam could only say this even if he was agitated and nervous about the twisted outcome.
