They had a good night's sleep. They were woken up by several knocks on the door. Levi stood up to open it and outside stood Josh and behind him was a lady with trays of food in her hand. They ate and discussed their goals.
"Josh can lead us wherever we need in the city," Iris said, "I mean we do need to buy a map of our own, but for now he will do.
Levi nodded "based on what Josh told us yesterday, Jordan is ruled by king George of the house Galanis. If we want to seek help he is the one to go to."
"You're forgetting one large problem" Iris said, "we are nobody, we come from a back water continent that doesn't even have a name yet, our words would mean nothing to the king" what Iris said was harsh but it was the truth. Kara clenched her fists, she was pained, Levi moved closer and placed his hand on hers. She raised her head, "well if there's one thing I've learned from our journey together, it would be to take things slowly and focus on the task at hand. "
Levi and Iris exchanged glances a bit surprised by Kara's development.
"We came here to get stronger right, well let's focus on that for now. Every other thing will fall in place after that."
Levi's eyebrows werr raised in amazements, while Iris had a wide smile on his face. "Well, I'm going to need a shave" Iris said stroking his facial hair.
As they navigated through the crowded streets, the trio couldn't help but marvel at the city's grandeur and the sense of opportunity it exuded. The towering buildings, the bustling markets, and the diverse array of people from all walks of life painted a vivid picture of life in Jordan. If Jordan looked like this then how does the rest of the cities in Avdira look like.
Led by Josh the came upon a gate. A tall brown gate that seemed to be made out of other materials, there were designs on the gate that glowed, and even on the tall walls were intricate carvings. As they stood in front of the gate they felt energy coming off the gate.
Josh decided to explain, " This school is run by the Georgalis family, it teaches people to control their elemental abilities. Although it's filled with various ability users, it's most abundant in fire and water."
"Thank you for your help Josh, how much will this be?" Levi asked,
"Oh this is for free don't worry." Josh said calmly, "I know the gatekeeper, he's a dwarf and an old friend, so we won't have trouble going in but after that you're on your own."
The trio nodded and followed after Josh. They walked to a small shed at the far end of the gate, as they got closer they heard snores echo through the window. Josh cleared his throat, "Desmond" he called but there was no answer, " Desmond its me Josh " but again there was no answer but the sounds of snores like and earthquake was heard. The trio released a slight chuckle behind Josh causing him to be slightly embarrassed. "DESMOND WAKE UP TOU BEARDED BASTARD" he shouted. They heard a thud, and sounds of someone tumbling over, while trying to get up. "W-who is it shouting at this time of day?" A heavily bearded red skinned, 4'5 dwarf. As he yawns Josh moved closer tapping his back, "I need your help Desmond, you see i have someone who wants to get into the academy, look i know its past the time for new students but i assure jou he's very talented " he turned to Iris " you are talented Right?" He asked a bit embarrassed. "Leave the way let me see the person you're talking about" Desmond said as he pushed Josh aside and moved forward. He stood across them and observed them, his eyes fell on Iris and he froze, they locked eyes for a second and Desmond took a step back erratically.
"Master Wit?" He questioned with a hi t of shock and confusion on his face.
Iris frowned, "yes, umn have we met before?" Iris asked clearly confused.
"No we haven't" Desmond answered rubbing his hand together a bit nervous, "but every gatekeeper is taught by the Georgalis family to recognize a member of the Wit family at a glance." Iris exchanged glances with Kara and Levi, while Josh stood there stupified.
" But why are you in rags, master,?" Desmond asked while scratching his bushy beard, "or is this a tes-"
"Are you a member of the Wit family?" Josh asked interrupting the dwarf.
Iris was not sure how to answer, it seems like he's being mistaken for someone that is part of a major family in Jordan probably.
"Listen, my name is Iris Wit, this is my friend Levi Samson and our ward Kara Dawn. We have come from a very far place, we are not from Avdira. I have come here because I've been told it's a good place to train my abilities."
Desmond and Josh stood there trying to understand the situation.
"So you aren't from the Wit family that rule the city of Karalis?" Desmond asked,
"Err no " Iris replied.
"But you bear the Wit name... And.. those eyes" Desmond said softly, causing Iris to raise his hand to his face caressing it.
"Come with me " Desmond said as he walked towards the gate, "I must take you to meet the head. They exchanged glances and followed after him.
"I'm afraid this is where I take my leave " Josh said as he backed away. The trio turned to face him, "thank you so much for your help Josh." Levi said, and both Iris and Kara nodded, Josh smiled then turned around and walked away. "See you around Desmond."
Desmond pushed the gate open and led them in. Then he closed the gate behind them. As they followed Desmond's lead, they were mismerised by what they saw.
