Rahua's POV
I quickly straightened my dress to meet Damion. He was back earlier today I hope nothing bad happened.
My pace was fast the maid that was supposed to be following was almost running behind me. Noticing I suddenly stop, regaining composure, walking slowly, so I can follow the maid, and not the other way around.
I am not used to this pretence play of walking gracefully.
The maid leads me to the door, "His Highness awaits my lady. " She says. I knock on the door to enter the room, I hear hurried steps inside, before I could say anything, the door swings open.
I see Damion before me, he takes me into a hug before a I could say hello.
"Damion?"
He pulls me inside still holding in embrace.
As he held me in his embrace, I couldn't help but feel a mix of confusion and concern. His grip was tight, almost desperate, as if he had been longing for this moment.
"What's wrong, Damion?" I whispered, my voice filled with worry.
He pulled away slightly, his eyes filled with emotion. "Rahua, I missed you." He says smiling.
I looked confused into his eyes, but I was happy that he was missing me all the time. " I am here." I smile.
"I have great news. We are almost finished with the farming project. We have made a great advance in the preparations for the farm, warehouse. "
"That is wonderful."
"I want to make our engagement announcement before my coronation." He says.
My heart skipped a beat at his words. Our engagement announcement? I hadn't expected this so early, but excitement began to bubble within me.
"Our engagement announcement?" I repeated, my voice filled with a mix of surprise and anticipation. "Damion, I didn't realize...Is this what you've been working on the last days?"
Damion nodded with a smile. "Yes, Rahua. I've been planning this for quite some time now. I want the world to know that you are the one I have chosen, that you are the one who holds my heart.
But amidst the happiness, a sense of unease lingered. The past few days had left me with unanswered questions. "Is that why everyone has started to refer to me as a 'Lady'? " I ask.
"You don't like it?" Is not that I don't like it, is just I thought it was weird all of sudden I was being held in such high regards.
I took a deep breath, pushing aside my doubts, and looked into Damion's eyes. "I would be honored to announce our engagement, Damion. I love you more than words can express."
Damion squeezed my hands affectionately. "I love you, Rahua. And I promise to protect you and stand by your side, no matter what."
"Yes." As far as good things go, I was happy but a sudden gloomy feeling was starting to creep over me, a feeling a knew a little too well. Once again, things were going way too well for my own good.
Things never went my way not before blowing on my face.
One thing I felt for sure, something bad was going to happen. I was too happy, for my own good.
*Cough* I hear from behind Damion. Sitting on the sofa was Lady Vilahna and Ceased, they were both there looking at us being lovey dovy, and I fail to notice, two of the main characters of this story. Is not that even matters anymore since the story has gone so far from its original material. I used to be so excited to be involved in their story, now I don't even notice their presence.
So strange how things change when you are happy.
"Hello Lady Vilahana, Lord Marquess Ceaser." I greet both of them.
"Hello Lady Rahua." Lady Vilahna as well, has began to calling me 'lady'. " I am glad to see you well." She says.
Ceaser as always just nods, doesn't say much.
I smile politely at Lady Vilahna and nod at Ceasar. "Thank you, Lady Vilahna. I hope you have been well too. And Lord Marquess Ceaser, it is good to see you again."
Damion clears his throat, bringing our attention back to him. "I apologize for interrupting your conversation, but Rahua, I would like to explain why I ask Lady Vilahna to come today."
Lady Vilahna's eyes, who were sparkling for some reason, holds my hand.
Damion takes a deep breath, his gaze never leaving mine. "Rahua and I want you to take lessons about etiquette and proper, Lady behaviour from Lady Vilahna. I don't want you to feel less when I introduce you to rest of the nobels." Damion says studying my reaction.
"We believe that you will make an wonderful queen with or without the lessons, but I think it would be good if you were pepared for this world." I know that navigating through nobility is not an easy feat, having lessons with someone like Lady Vilahna would certainly be the best option.
Damion and Lady Vilahna have worried expression on their face, as if they were worried about my reaction.
Ceasar remains silent, his expression unreadable.
I smile. " Thank you for thinking of me, I will gladly accept your help, to become that is worthy of being a Queen." I say grabbing Lady's Vilahna hand.
"You are already worthy." Damion says, I feel already happy that he thinks so.
"Thank you, Lady Vilahna," I reply with a grateful smile. "Your support means a lot to me."
Lady Vilahna embraces me tightly. "I am so thrilled for you, Lady Rahua. You deserve all the happiness in the world."
Damion gently nudges Lady Vilahna away, wanting to hold me again. "Thank you, Lady Vilahna. Your words mean everything to us."
Ceasar finally speaks up, his voice low and guarded. "Congratulations, Lady Rahua."
"Thank you, Lord Marquess Ceasar," I say, trying to keep my voice steady.
Lady Vilahna, pulls me aside, almost in a whisper she say. " I also have something to tell you Lady Rahua." She smiles.
