Chapter 68 - Chapter 62 - Misunderstandings

Rahua's POV

I'm hungry and thirsty.

I open my eyes, I wasn't in a hospital. I thought I was going to wake up in the real world, but that was not case.

I don't know how long I have been unconscious, long enough to need food. I sit up in my.... my? Bed!

Where am I did Vital trapped me again? Well I remember I tried to leave and end up coming back again to his house, so embarrassing.

I also dreamed that Damion, was there saving me.

"Hahaha" a weak laugh came out of my sore throat. Tastes bitter. I really need to eat something.

I put my feet on the ground, is hard to stand up, I feel my legs trembling.

I look myself in the mirror and I see that I am dressed in a night gown. Did that pervert changed my clothes and cleaned me? Ohh that sick...it doesn't matter, I breathe deep, it...doesn't... matter.

"Ok we can do this!! " I stand up, and I feel my head spin, I feel like I am going to vomit.

Hold it in. You got it girl! I can do this. I walk steadying myself against the wall.

As I pass through the window, I could see there's no bars, is not blocked. With a bit of strength I can open it. At that moment, a summer breeze comes through the window.

"It's open." I whisper to myself. Is freaking open. If I can climb out of here. I don't know if I can make it far, but I can leave once again.

I didn't make it far last time, but if I stay to regain strength, he may change me to a more prison like room, like the one before.

I hear voices and footsteps outside of my door. They seem angry. Ohh no, I don't have the mental strength to deal with this.

I put my leg through the other side of the window and start inching my way out, careful not to make any noise. The voices grow louder, sounding more agitated. Panic sets in as I realize they're getting closer to my room.

I pick up my pace, trying to squeeze my body through the narrow window frame. Pain shoots through my muscles as I contort myself, but fear is driving me forward. I can't afford to get caught again.

Just as I manage to free myself from the window, I hear the door to my room burst open. I don't dare look back, my only focus is on escaping. Adrenaline surges through me, numbing the ache in my body.

As I about to climb down, a hand grabs through the window pulling me back, I struggle against the grip that is holding me in place. "No no!" I move my arm and body around. My feet slip down, I feel my body fall, but the hand holds me steady.

"Rahua, I will not let you fall. " The familiar voice, was gentle and sweet, pushing me up and inside the room again. Falling on top of his body.

"Damion?" Why is Damion here? Does that mean I am not in Vital manor anymore? That I ... I try to get my self up but my strength fail me, I can only move around on top Damion.

"Please Rahua, stop." He says turning his gaze away.

"I am trying to get up. But my legs are failing me." I say in low voice.

"Yeah, just sit still, for a moment. " He grabs on my waist and move to the side. He gets up and covers his face with his hand, and looks to the side.

Is he ... Angry at me right now? Why though? I mean I thought that I was at Vital's Manor, that's why I tried to jump. But even so, I should be the one that's angry, I should be the one avoiding him.

Is he kidding me??? I stand up angry forgetting I haven't eaten anything for a while. My head spins again making me lose balance, once again he catches me. His face just so close to mine that our noses touch.

My belly growls loud. I push him back. "I haven't eaten in a while." Say embarrassed.

Damion lets out a soft chuckle, easing the tension between us. "I can see that. Let's get you something to eat, okay?" He gets up opens the door, ordering the maids to bring me food. They lead me to a table that they brought in.

We sit down, as the food is serve, the eggs, the fresh bread smell fills my nostrils. I can help but to salivate.

I look at Damion, he smiles and nods for me to dig in. As I put the bread and the egg on my mouth it was like I was eating it for the first time ever. It was delicious, I wanted to cry, but I was so hungry.

"I'm sorry, Rahua," he says, his voice filled with regret. "I should have been there to protect you. I shouldn't have let Vital get his hands on you."

"It's not your fault, Damion," I reply, my voice shaky. "I made the choice to leave. I thought I could find a way out on my own."

He sighs,"You're strong, Rahua. Stronger than you know. But you don't have to face this alone."

I take a bite of the sandwich, the taste of food comforting my growling stomach. The simple act of eating feels like a small victory amidst the chaos.

"Damion, where are we?" I finally ask, curiosity getting the best of me. "Is this still Vital's Manor?" Even though I ask, I know it makes no sense.

He shakes his head. "No, we're at the Palace. You don't have to worry about Vital anymore. Ever again." He says smiling.

Relief floods through me, mingling with a sense of gratitude towards Damion. "Thank you, Damion. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for your help."

He smiles softly. "You don't have to thank me, Rahua. I care about you. I'll always be here for you." His words sting. He shouldn't be so nice to me.

" You shouldn't be nice to me, I might misunderstand things." I put my bread down, feeling sick. Maybe I ate too fast.

"Rahua, I don't want you to misunderstand things, that's why I want to tell you, exactly what I feel..." My heart hurts, I brace myself for the hit.

"Rahua I... Love you."

He what?

"Your Highness, the Stronghold family is here to see the Miss Rahua." The maid interrupts, entering the room. Damion's expression changes.

I look at Damion, my mind still trying to process what he just said. Love? He loves me? But he has a fiancé. Before I can respond, he quickly composes himself and stands up to greet my family.

"Please show them in," he instructs the maid, his voice steady but slightly strained. I continue to sit at the table, my mind in a whirlwind of emotions.

As my family enters the room, I stand up and the twins run towards me, hugging me. "Big sister, we missed you. " Mother, Father and Kira bow their heads respectfully to Damion, acknowledging his presence as the Crown Prince.

"Your Highness, we thank you deeply from the bottom of our heart, for saving our dear daughter." My father still bowing thanks Damion.

Damion's face softens, "please you don't have to bow, I did it for selfish reasons, I did because I can't live without your daughter, I love your daughter." I dropped my jaw, I just heard Damion saying that he loves me again. The silence was palpable.

My parents exchange surprised glances before my mother finally speaks. "Your Highness, we appreciate your kind words, but as you know, our daughter is just from a low birth, we have no noble name, no lands."

"I don't care. I feel love for your daughter, and not for what she might or might not have."

"My big sister is going to be a Princess." Zoe cheered.

"No you dummy she going to be a Queen." Said Zack correcting her.

"I think I am going to vomit." All that I had eaten, came out ended up in a bucket close by.
