In the West building , Seo and Katashi are fighting against numerous type D Gaoru while Minami shooting the monsters at their surrounding and Varmoth take out any monsters near their area. As Katashi defeated the last remaining Gaoru , they decide to gather at the meeting point and continue scout the rest of the area before they leave back to Sanctuary. After 3 minutes of walking around the building , Minami feel that he step on something beneath his left foot. As he lift his foot up , he see something that surprise him and decide to call out the rest of his team. When all of his team have arrive , they look at the thing that point out by Minami;
Varmoth: "A plant ?"
Katashi: "Impossible , it should've never been existed in this world. How come it finally appeared in this building ?"
Seo: "We should investigate this plant. I believe there must be more plants like this nearby."
Minami: "Hey guys..."
Seo: "Hmm ? , what is it ?"
Minami: "I think I found the path to where it coming from."
Seo: "What....!?"
Seo and the rest walk toward Minami and as they look ahead of him , they see a path surrounded with plants and trees that lead to somewhere.
Minami: "What do you think ? , should we go back first ?"
Seo: "Well , there could be some anomalies that could cause those plants and trees to grow. So , it would be a best bet to investigate right away so we can warn the rest of the group about the dangers of this place."
Minami: "Got it."
Thus , they decide to continue scouting the path to investigate the cause behind the growth of plants and trees. When they arrive at the end of the path , they see an old big greenhouse that was overgrown by vines slithering around it. They continue to find the entrance around the greenhouse and finally able to get inside. As they walk in at the entrance of the greenhouse , it surprise them as they see a beautiful garden surrounding them. They walk around the greenhouse to find the causes of this phenomena but , they weren't able to found it. They gather at the center of the greenhouse;
Minami: "Wait..."
Katashi: "What's wrong ?"
Minami: "I'm not sure of what I'm seeing , but I see a movement to our right."
They look to their right and see a tall tree nearby. The tree may be nothing unusual but they can feel that someone or something is hiding behind it. Seo take a few steps forward;
Seo: "Is anyone there ?"
It goes silent for few seconds then a figure of a girl come out behind the tree.
Katashi: "A survivor ?..."
Varmoth: "She has an old style of cloths though. More like ancient."
Seo: "I don't think I've seen her before..."
But Seo notice one thing about her;
Seo: "You're not human aren't you ?"
Her ears are not of a shape of human but a shape of an elf then she answer;
Elf girl ?: "What do you want from me , this time ?"
Seo: "This time ? , I am not sure what are you talk-"
Elf girl ?: "I WILL NOT SURRENDER ANYTHING TO THE LIKE OF YOU , HUMAN!!"
She take out some unknown seeds off her pocket then throw into the ground making it grow out some vines. As it grow long , it begin to attack them so Seo and the other start to run from her and hide behind another tree and crouch behind small rock.
Seo: "We are not here to harm you or taking anything from you."
Elf girl ?: "I won't fall for your foolishness , damn human."
Seo look at the others;
Seo: "I don't think we can convince her but to take her down by force."
Minami thought to himself for a moment then;
Minami: "We should fallback for now."
Seo: "Are you certain about this ?"
Minami: "Normally , she wouldn't have been attacking us if she knew we came without the intention of harm. I believe someone must have been here before us , so it could be the reason why she hated us so much."
Seo: "I see , if that's the case , we're going to retreat."
Thus , everyone agreed then run back to the entrance leaving the girl behind and return back to the Sanctuary to find out how to earn her trust. On the next day , they can't figured out so they gather at the tavern to hear each other opinions.
Seo: "So...does anyone know how to show her that we are not bad people ?"
Varmoth: "Is giving her some of the foods in the Sanctuary prove our intention ?"
Katashi: "I doubt she can eat meat. She's already had her own fruits in her garden so , giving her the foods is out of option."
Minami: "How about we goes to her garden without bringing our weapon ?"
Seo: "She'll probably torture us to death. So , that's a bad idea."
After minutes passed by , they couldn't find the resolve to prove themselves.
Varmoth: "I guess putting her down is the only option we had."
Seo: "No. We'll talk to her one more time. If things start to goes out of control , then we can take her down as our last resort."
They agree to his plan then goes their way to the South West terminal to prepare their journey. When they arrive at the terminal , Minami look at Varmoth;
Minami: "Varmoth-san , the armor that you're wearing must be made out of type B Gaoru , right ?. I didn't realize it until now."
Varmoth: "Yes it is , I am among the people that fortunate enough to bought it because the armor itself is hard to acquire since type B Gaoru is hard to take it down."
Minami: "I see , since we're going to the West building , we might have the chance to find type B Gaoru. But I don't think we can find it that easily due to it being good at hiding."
Varmoth: "I just hope that we didn't run into it on our way."
When they arrive at the greenhouse , they walk into the entrance they escape before. Once they're inside , the girl they met is already waiting at the tall tree she used to hide. She get up from her seat then walk toward them.
Elf girl ?: "Oh ? , all of you are here again. There's nothing much I can offer you today so I advice you all to leave this place."
Seo: "We are not here to take something from you or harming you. We just want to talk."
Elf girl ?: "I won't accept negotiation either. What about a man with the named Kojima ?"
Seo: "Kojima ?....he's been here too ?"
Elf girl ?: "He and his man keeps on demanding the fruits that I've been taking care of and threatening me and my garden if I won't give him the fruits he wanted."
Seo and the other are surprise knowing the truth about the people who have been here before them which happen to be Kojima and his group. Soon after , they hear and feel that the greenhouse start to shake.
Minami: "What was that just now ?"
Katashi: "Type B Gaoru..."
Varmoth: "It's here."
Seo: "Alright everyone , protect the garden at all cost. The monster is right outside of the greenhouse and we must take it out before it destroy this whole place."
As everyone agreed , the girl is confuse and ask;
Elf girl ?: "Why would you do such a thing ?. I don't need your help."
Seo: "We are trying to prove to you that we are not the same people as the one you met before us. We will be back once we defeat that monster."
Thus , they goes outside leaving the girl behind and find the monster who disturb the garden. When they arrive outside the greenhouse area , they look around and found nothing odd surrounding them. As Minami turn around , Seo see a flying big rock come down toward him so he pull him away and the big rock crash down nearly hit Minami and Seo. Seo then order Varmoth and Katashi to take cover while he check up on Minami.
Seo: "Do you hurt anywhere ?"
Minami: "I'm fine."
Seo help Minami up and he look at the rest.
Seo: "Any movement ?"
Varmoth: "Behind the bush 4 meters away from us."
Katashi: "Its coming toward us."
Soon after , Gaoru type B appear from the bush and look at them with fierce stare. The monster smash the ground with both bare hands then roar at the top of its breath and continue dash toward them. Katashi run directly at it and slash its arm with his sword but his attack repel as the sword bounce back from its tough skin. Varmoth preparing her shoot with a sniper then focus her aim at its chest hoping that her sniper bullet will penetrate its heart. When she shoot , the bullet successfully hit its chest stopping it from moving. Few seconds later , it continue moving as she see that the bullet only penetrate the surface of its skin. As it get closer , Seo distract it with his attack and it smash him away with its arm but he wasn't done yet as he climb to its back and start scratch at the front of its neck with his sword leaving cut marks into it. It anger the monster as it grab Seo and does a hard throw to the ground. As Seo lay on the ground in pain , the monster lock its hands together and raise it above its head to smash him. When it begin to swing down , Katashi manage to slash its left ankle in time making it immobilize and it smash beside Seo. Varmoth also see the opportunity and aim at its head then shoot. The bullet hit its head then lean backward exposing the bullet that still penetrate in its chest. Minami hit the final blow as he shoot its chest with his pistol making the bullet hit the stuck sniper bullet to penetrate it even further. As it reach through its heart , its body begin to numb and finally lay down without showing any sign of life and thus , they're able to defeat type B Gaoru. Everyone are relief that they're able to protect the garden from the monster then;
Minami: "I wonder if that elf girl is okay..."
Seo: "She's not an elf."
Minami , Varmoth and Katashi when silent for a moment.
Minami: ".....What ?"
Seo: "She is not an elf. She is a plant being called Dryad. Her power may be strong but she can't fight without any sign of plantation since this world is very rare to grow plant and that's why she relied on seed she carried as her source of power."
Moments later , they come back to the greenhouse where the dryad girl is waiting for them.
Dryad girl: "Is that monster gone now ?"
Minami: "Yeah , your garden is safe for the time being. I guess there's nothing much we can do so , we're going back to our place."
As they start to leave. The dryad girl try to ask them one more time.
Dryad girl: "U-Um..."
Minami: "Hmm ?"
Dryad girl: "Why would all of you sacrifice your life to protect my garden after all I've done to you ?"
Minami then reply with a smile;
Minami: "Like we said , we didn't come here by any mean to harm you. But instead , we are more than happy to help you in any way we're capable of."
Dryad girl: "Then....may I know your name ?"
Minami: "I'm Keisuke Minami."
Katashi: "Daisuke Katashi , great to meet ya."
Varmoth: "You can call me Varmoth , nice to meet you."
Seo: "Ootori Seo."
Minami: "May we know your name as well ?"
Dryad girl: ".....Tachi Mizuki. You can call me Mizuki."
Thus , the bond between Mizuki and them begin.
