FLASHBACK: TWO YEARS AGO, EVERGREEN ISLE
The colossal ancient tree stood as a majestic sentinel, its trunk so vast it rivaled the size of ships. Its gnarled branches wove in and out of view, creating a mesmerizing depth. The canopy was a sanctuary for an intricate ecosystem of birds, owls, and other avian creatures, with nests nestled on the smallest, most remote branches.
Nearby, a network of small canals meandered, fed by the clear waters of a nearby river. The grass, as tall as a child, was teeming with insects that provided a symphony of nature's music.
Behind this vibrant scene stretched an expansive field brimming with colorful flowers and herbs. Children, clad in garments woven from plant fibers, roamed the field with wooden baskets, eagerly collecting the rich bounty of herbs.
