Chereads / The Villainess's Oath: I'll Kill The Protagonists / Chapter 3 - The failed engagement

Chapter 3 - The failed engagement

Minosha knew that she was being unreasonable. As a baby with a teenager's mind, she understood that she shouldn't cause troubles to others. However, she couldn't help but crying.

It was good that she was a newborn baby. It gave her the opportunity to cry to her heart's content.

She missed her mom. She wanted to go home. She felt helpless and lonely as she was lost in a foreign, strange world.

What could she do apart from crying?

The moment she opened her eyes, she hoped to wake up in a hospital. She wanted to believe that everything was a nightmare.

As a person with a normal mindset, how could she believe that system's words?

She didn't take her words seriously. She thought it was just a dream she was having after the accident.

Maybe she got a brain problem. Maybe this was still a dream. No, no. A nightmare.

She should wake up soon!

Yeah, she must wake up soon!

The more she realized that it wasn't a dream, the more louder her cry became.

Eventually, she accepted her fate as she drifted back to sleep after crying a river of tears.

The wet nurse reluctantly covered her chest. She didn't know what to do. The baby didn't drink atleast a drop of milk. Wasn't she hungry? Then why did she cry so loudly? Did she get scared of something?

She informed the king's mother about the baby's abnormal behaviour.

Meanwhile in Rodwef...

The King Foneth grinned from ear to ear as he listened to his reporter. Apparently, the wizard was correct. King Edwin did get a daughter in the end.

Foneth picked up his little son and kissed his cheek lovingly.

"Aaah, son, be happy. You got a wife instead of a rival. Your future will be smooth."

"Wipe?" Prince Heidith mumbled in his baby voice, not understanding what his father was saying.

His big round emerald green eyes looked so adorable. His confused look was so cute. The king couldn't help kissing his cheek again.

"Yeah. It means someone with whom you grow old."

The little three-year-old boy couldn't understand his words that much. However, he realized that it was a good thing by looking at his father's bright face. If his father was happy about it, naturally, he was happy too.

King Foneth turned to his reporter again. "Send them an invitation. We should celebrate this happy moment."

The reporter nodded and left to fulfill the king's task.

Foneth turned to his son again. "Are you ready to get engaged to your wife?" He asked softly.

This time, little Heidith eagerly nodded his head.

"Yes, papa..."

------------

The day of the celebration

Queen Margaret held her daughter in her arms as she followed her husband to the Rodwef palace.

The palace was gigantic and luxurious. Everything screamed wealth. She was secretly happy. Her daughter would spend a comfortable and happy life as the wife of the future king. To do that, she knew she must train her properly.

She looked down at the baby who was dressed in a floral pink gown. She looked so cute. Her wrinkles had gone and her real adorable look was there. She no longer looked like an old granny.

'I will make sure that you will become a proper lady and manage the affairs inside the palace as a future wife of a king,' She thought determinedly.

Little Minosha, who didn't have an idea of what was going inside her mother's brain, looked around curiously.

She had already witnessed how luxurious a palace could be. But she couldn't help becoming surprised. This palace looked much more wealthier than her father's palace. She could understand why the villainess wanted to become the wife of that stinky male lead so badly.

Who wouldn't want to live in such a place?

Ehem! Except, herself. Although she loved the palace, she became horrified as well. She never wanted to become a rich lady after all. It was too troublesome. She had to care about her behaviour all the time. She had to act like a lady all the time. Wasn't it too bothersome?

She just wanted to live a simple life with her mother.

A simple life filled with happiness.

Nevertheless, she died. Now she had to pay the price before going back.

It won't be easy but she didn't have a choice.

Actually, she didn't want to go to country Rodwef in the first place. The moment she realized that they were going to attend a banquet there, she threw a tantrum by crying and screaming but to no avail. She didn't have a choice but tag along unwillingly.

She wasn't ready to meet the stinky male lead yet. Even though he was still a child who didn't know how to count to ten.

(Prince Heidith: Excuse me, I know how to count to ten!)

After some warm greetings, the four royalties sat down on a Mahogany wooden table with happy smiles. The two queens carried the two kids on their laps.

Prince Heidith glanced at the little baby girl in front of him with curiosity before giving her an adorable, honest, friendly smile.

He somehow had a brief idea that this little baby would live with him in the future. So better to make friends with her.

Little Mimosa blinked her big blue eyes when she saw his silly grin. She wanted to roll her eyes but she knew that it would look weird as she was still a baby.

Wah! Still three but already knew how to capture women!

Sure enough, he was definitely qualified to become the male lead.

Price Heidith was taken aback as he got shot by the baby girl's sudden glare. He didn't know what he did wrong. He lowered his pitiful eyes to the ground, feeling scared.

After successfully scaring the boy, little Mimosa was in a good mood. She clapped her hands together with a sound, "Kya!"

Her soft baby voice immediately attracted the four adults' attention.

"Anah! Such a cutie. Our boy is so lucky to have her as his future wife," Queen Ezra beamed with a smile.

Mimosa: "..." 'Damn!'

Meanwhile, Prince Heidith was at the verge of crying.

She looked terrifying. How come they found her cute?

He didn't want to live with her! She looked rude and scary.

He helplessly looked at his father, seeking for help. But his father didn't pay attention to his plea.

Maybe his father got deceived by her! Was she a witch from his mother's bedtime stories?

He heard that witches looked kind, cute and friendly. But in reality, they were rude and mean. They deceived people with their fake kindness.

This realization made him scared even more.

The adults discussed about the kids' future wedding and they agreed to announce them as fiancé and fiancée around other countries. So that everyone would know they were already taken.

"Son, now you are engaged to her," King Foneth took his son from his wife's arms as he said.

"But papa..." Prince Heidith hesitated. He wanted to tell him that... He didn't want to be with her. But, he couldn't bring himself to tell that as he realized how happy his father looked.

In the end, he helplessly nodded his head.

It was a different case with Princess Mimosa. She threw a tantrum again by angrily screaming. She acted spoiled and misbehaved.

'I wish I could speak. But damn! I'm still a useless toddler!' She thought regrettably in her mind.

Then, making everyone surprised, she touched her father's sword. Indeed, she couldn't lift it up. However, her actions forshadowed her future.

It made the adults uneasy except for King Edwin. Surpassing his smile, he said, "Oh, it seems like my daughter doesn't like to get engaged yet. Let's postpone the engagement for the time being."

Again, surprisingly, the little princess became calm as if nothing had happened. It really did seem like the king Edwin was correct.

'So what if she's a girl? I'll train her to become a warrior and she'd definitely surpass this stinky prince.' He thought proudly.

Little did Minosha knew that she changed the entire plot of the novel by taking that simple action.
