"You are my never-ending thought."

Amelia's POV
I let out a heavy sigh, "If a DNA test is the thing you want we can do it. As for the marriage proposal, my answer is no."
"And why is that?"
I let out a heavy sigh and looked at him, "See, Mr. Cartwright--"
"Call me Liam." He injected in between.
I paused for a few seconds before continuing, "O--okay, Liam! Look, I don't know what you think about marriage. But for me, it's a very pious and sacred relationship. It's a lifetime commitment and it's come with lots of responsibility. And I don't want to tie down in a relationship due to circumstances. Marriage doesn't work like that. I want to marry someone who loves me and whom I love. Just because we're having a baby we can't marry," I explained patiently.
"Then what do you want to do? Are you going to abort the baby?" he seethed in anger.
"You didn't even believe that it's your baby when I said. Then why do you care now?" I questioned.
"Because it's my baby, dammit!" I flinched as he banged on the table loudly causing all the attention of people.
"You're making a scene." I hissed, Liam closed his eyes with frustration and tried to calm himself.
It was good I was sitting facing the wall, but still, I could feel gazes on me. I gulped my saliva and tried to calm myself. I turned my attention to Liam who started to speak up.
"I'm sorry, I-- got angry!" He apologized quickly, "See Amelia, I can understand you may not be ready to want this baby. But I want this baby. In fact, I need this baby. This baby is my only hope. That's why I reacted like this." He pleaded, this time his voice was soft and calm.
There was desperation and need in his voice which made me think. Does that baby matter so much to him that he's ready to plead?
It's like I don't know him. It's not even that I knew him before, but I have heard a lot about his arrogance and uncaring attitude. But right now, he's acting like completely a different person.
Moreover, I didn't even want to kill the baby in the first place but I hadn't the option. Neither I'm not ready to become a mother nor I'm capable of taking care of a child yet.
"Okay, but what do you want me to do?" I asked calmly.
"Be my surrogate."
Wait —what?

As soon as I opened the door, Jane and Camellia rushed to me excitedly. I looked at them confusedly as they both stared at me with cheeky smiles.
"What happened? Why are you guys looking at me like this?" I asked.
"How's your date? I heard you went out with The Liam Cartwright!" Jane said, smirking at me.
I let out a sigh and walked inside the house. They both followed me behind. Keeping the bag on the table, I plopped down on the couch.
"It wasn't a date," I replied nonchalantly.
"Hey, don't lie! Last night, you went to his house. Now, he came here to meet you. That means something is going on between you two, right?" Camellia concluded.
"Well, you're not entirely wrong," I mumbled.
I rubbed my face warily as Camellia and Jane looked at me curiously. Okay, I have to tell them sooner or later about it. So why not now? In fact, they can help me to decide. So, yeah let's do it.
I tried to calm myself by inhaling and exhaling my breath. It's a big thing, I don't know how they are going to react, will they judge me for sleeping with him?
I mean, it wasn't intentional but it happened.
"Liah, what happened?" Camellia asked, looking at me worriedly.
Jane also has a worried expression on her face. They both sat down beside me on the couch when Jane spoke up, "Look we're joking, Liah! You don't need to---"
"Actually I need to tell you something, guys. You remembered that day when I lost my virginity," I said pursing my lips in a thin line. I was nervous as they both looked at me with confusion upon hearing that.
"Yeah. But why are asking about that day?" Camellia asked.
"Actually I lied one thing about that day, " I said guiltily, "Actually that day, the guy with whom slept was Liam." I blurted out.
"Liam as in Liam Cartwright?" Jane asked shock written all over her face. I nod my head in shame.
"Wow! You're awesome, Liah! You banged on the hottest guy in our company." Jane said excitedly, Camellia let out a small smile hearing that while I cringed at her words.
"You guys aren't mad at me?" I asked looking at both of them. They looked at me confusedly.
"No, why would we?" Jane said, "I mean the guy is too hot. Even I would have banged on him if I had a chance," She winked at me. Again, I cringed at her words.
Ewww! No, I don't want to go there!
"Ewww! Jane, don't go there." Camellia piped in, I mentally thanked her for saying this, "Don't forget, you're talking about Amelia's baby's daddy. It's inappropriate."
Jane bit her tongue, "Sorry— wait, what baby?"
Jane looked at me and Camellia with a dumbfounded expression. Suddenly, the realization hit me that I hadn't told Jane about my pregnancy yet.
I wasn't trying to hide it from her, however, I didn't get a chance to tell her about it. She raised her eyebrows at us suspiciously, seeing our reaction.
"You see, last week, I took a test —" I told her, she was eyeing me curiously, "-and found out that I'm pregnant."
Her eyes widened in surprise as well as shock, "What?!!!"
Camellia and I were startled by her scream, "Oh my god! This is incredible. Congratulations, girl!" Jane exclaimed with so much excitement that I was speechless for a moment.
"You aren't angry?" I asked, staring at her with a dumbfounded expression.
"Why would I be? It's such good news. It would be childish to be angry, just because you didn't tell me about it earlier. I'm sure, you have your reasons, or you might have forgotten to tell me," she said, waving her hands nonchalantly.
Well, she's right about that. I did forget to tell her about the news.
"That doesn't matter to me that much. But if you're feeling guilty, then you can buy an iPhone. I will be forever grateful to you." She said, winking at me.
"It's fine, I'm not feeling even a little bit guilty about it," I muttered, and she pouted hearing that, "That's not fair."
