"There's a right to be wronged, I'm just a doctor who heals people, so don't give me a hard time if you're a wronged soul who's been eaten by a tree man! I'm leaving now!"
Charlotte's throat rolled and she turned around, ready to run.
This is just horrible!
Someone in Tree Man's throat actually said hello to him?
This was already beyond his ability, this hundred copper coins, not to be earned!
"Hey hey hey! Dr. Charlotte, don't you go!" The voice that came from his throat was clearly in some kind of hurry.
"Crap, this Creepy Tao is not shallow! Even knows my name!" Charlotte was shocked, and her determination to run away became even stronger.
"I'm Guy! Guy the dwarven blacksmith from the corner smithy, the one who treated your ear last month!"
Charlotte's footsteps stopped; he did remember such a figure.
The Dwarven blacksmith of Barka Street is a stout, fat man, blind in one left eye, but a good hand at his trade, and came to him last month for his ears, and the original transplanted a dingo's ear to him, which cured his lack of ear.
"Are you a human or a ghost? What's the deal?" Charlotte asked.
"This tree man came to me early this morning to get his teeth replaced, and when I was putting his teeth in, I accidentally rolled them down his throat and then they got stuck, so please help me get out." Guy's voice came from deep in his throat.
So it was a dental malpractice, huh?
Charlotte sniffed with some amusement.
"What position are you stuck in now? What's the situation? What help do you need from me?" Charlotte asked quickly.
The situation has now involved two people, and if not handled correctly, it could be the result of a dead body.
"I'm completely stuck, heck I just swallowed a couple times and it almost sent me to the rectum!" Guy cursed, "I'm sure I can't climb out on my own, you throw me a rope down, I'll tie myself off and then you get someone to pull me out."
"Good! I'll go get you some rope!" Charlotte agreed, turning and running toward the outside of the oral cavity.
It's a foreign object with a mind of its own.
But that's kind of good news.
If he's allowed to go deep into the tree man's throat to try and loosen a piece of foreign matter that's stuck in his throat, this basically pronounces the tree man dead.
Charlotte crawled out of the tree man's half-open mouth, shoving in a man-high stick to support it in the process.
Tree Man had fallen into a semi-conscious state and his breath was becoming weak.
Charlotte ran into the clinic and quickly ran out again carrying a coil of heavy chain, bolting one end to a stone pillar as thick as a man's ring in front of the clinic's front door, and then rushed once more into the tree man's mouth, carrying the chain.
"This tree man is broken, isn't he?"
"What's that doctor doing in there with the chains? It doesn't look like a good idea at all, does it?"
"This human doctor really can't be relied on, he can't even do magic, and he deserves to be called a doctor?"
The onlookers sneered, and others already had their eyes on the treehugger's pockets, intending to get a piece of the action.
"I can't pull you, so I've tied the chain to the stone pillar, you have amazing arm strength, grab it and climb out yourself!" Charlotte stood on her tongue and threw the chain down toward the throat sticking out.
"Good! Thanks!" Guy's voice came.
Charlotte ran quickly out of the tree man's mouth and took a few steps back away from the chains.
Looking at the dying tree man, he could only wish him luck at the moment.
Wow!
The chain tied to the stone column steeply taut, then slightly trembling up, the stone column was rubbed rustling straight off the stone powder.
"What the hell!"
"Is this magic?"
"Enchanted chains?"
The onlookers watched this scene with astonished expressions.
Boo!
A sound like a wine cork being pulled came out of the tree man's mouth, and soon a solid dwarf covered in green sap-stained sap crawled out of the tree man's mouth.
"The old man is finally out!" Guy wiped his face, holding back a few moments of gratitude.
Charlotte swept a glance at his wine-soaked general's belly, which would have had to go to the detritus of the digestive tract to find him if he hadn't been relying on that fat.
"Why is there a dwarf crawling out?"
"Isn't that the owner of the blacksmith store on the corner?"
"It's still true! How did he get eaten by the tree people?"
The onlookers clamored, this development somewhat beyond their expectations.
The choking foreign object had been removed, but the tree man had fallen into a coma and his breath was still very weak.
Charlotte turned and went into the clinic, quickly running out again clutching a bunch of potions and drilling them into the tree man's mouth once more.
Three vials of hemostatic potions and three vials of intermediate strength potions were poured directly down the depths of his throat.
A hemostatic potion was used to restore the throat damage, and a stamina potion was able to revive him faster.
Charlotte stepped back and watched the tree people sprawled out in the street, waiting for the potion to take effect.
Exposing a weakened state in front of others is a very dangerous thing to do in the Abyss.
Tree people belonged to a gifted race, and without much hard training, they could possess fourth-order strength after reaching adulthood, and were an existence that most people would not dare to mess with.
But an unconscious treehugger isn't in that range.
"Ahem... ahem..."
The tree man lying on the ground suddenly coughed violently twice, and his closed eyes opened abruptly, as if a drowning man had finally been dragged ashore, greedily breathing in large gulps of air.
The two habitual thieves who had already circled around to the side of the tree man were startled and fled.
The tree man sat up on his knees with his one arm propped up on the ground, his cloudy eyes looking at Charlotte standing in the doorway of the clinic, his voice low as he asked, "You saved me?"
"Amos, you idiot, what do you belch when you pretend to have teeth, you almost suffocated me! If it wasn't for Dr. Charlotte, both of us would have been killed in one body, and my Guy's reputation would have been ruined if word got out!" Guy looked at the tree man cursing, turned to Charlotte again with a grateful face and said, "Thank you so much."
"No need to be polite." Charlotte nodded slightly, then looked at the tree man and said, "Healing fee 100 copper coins, three vials of Hemostasis Potion 300 copper coins, three vials of Intermediate Stamina Potion 600 copper coins, total 1000 copper coins."
"Thanks." The tree man nodded slightly, his eyes sweeping the crowd as he reached into the hole in the tree on the left side of his chest and fished out a handful of silver and copper coins, counting them slightly before handing them to Charlotte.
Charlotte took a careful count and returned the extra copper coin.
She likes the kind of patients who give money well and don't talk too much.
[Ding! Tree Man Amos's mission is complete! Reward received: copper coins x 100! Due to the fact that the rescue process was mobbed and caused a positive reaction, additional Famous Doctor Influence +100 is received!
Eh? This extra bonus would be great!
It's worth ten patients to be mobbed.
Charlotte felt her pockets fill up a few more times, and her mood became a few more wonderful.
"You're not going to use all the money from your dental fillings as medical bills, are you?" Guy looked at Tree Man.
The tree man looked at the copper coin in his hand and said with some embarrassment, "The tooth will be filled next month."
"Shit!" Guy gave a grumpy middle finger, "I gave you all my teeth and you had to come back next month to get them filled and almost got your little life killed, you can't do business like that, you can't do business like that."
"Dr. Charlotte, thank you for saving my life, and if you ever need anything whipped up, feel free to come see me and I'll waive a bill for you." Guy patted his chest and said to Charlotte, sniffing his hand again with a disgusted face, "It stinks! I'm going back to take a shower, see you later!"
After that, he ran away without looking back, like a pot-bellied gyroscope.
A good thing like a free bill, of course Charlotte wouldn't turn it down.
He even thought it was a bit of a waste of this waiver to have Guy forge a scalpel, how about a forty-meter long one?
Iron is still valuable in the Abyss.
Resale should fetch a good price.
The crowd of onlookers dispersed, many of them holding Charlotte, the human doctor, in high regard.
Charlotte was also ready to go back and take a shower and change her clothes.
The same foul odor emanated from the mouths of the tree people who had traveled to and from them several times earlier.
But the tree man didn't leave, standing in front of the clinic with a look of seeming hesitation.
[Ding! Tree Man Amos seems to need help, communicating with him may trigger a hidden quest! Receive a special reward! The system's beep sounded.
Charlotte, who had already turned around, stopped and turned back to look at the tree man and asked, "Is there anything else you need help with?"
"You're a doctor, can you help me lift the curse from my body?" The tree man crouched down, his cloudy eyes looking at Charlotte with a hopeful glow in them.
"A curse?" Charlotte looked at the spot of dry skin on the tree man.
The tree man's gaze slightly dimmed and said, "Yes. Five years ago, I fought a black magician and was cursed by him before he died, so that I could never see the sunlight again or else I would die with my entire body drying up."
Black magicians belonged to the existence of the chaotic and evil camp, practicing in an evil way and often with many innocent lives on their hands.
Charlotte looked at the poor tree people, as a sun-favored race that relied on sunlight to cultivate and grow, they were put under such a vicious curse.
Denying tree people the sun would be no different than denying humans the right to breathe.
That explains why he was in the Abyss.
Aside from the lowly crypts of the northern goblins, this would have been the best place for the cursed tree people to be.
Without being able to bask in the sun, the tree people's strength would stagnate or even regress, and they would not be able to recover from the injuries they had sustained.
This was the reason why, as one of the races with the strongest recovery ability, he was unable to recover the injuries on his body.
[Ding! Tree Man Amos has issued a quest to you: to lift the black magic curse from his body. Quest Reward: Copper Coins x300! Special Reward x1!
The special rewards are enticing and usually open up nice items.
But as a doctor, Charlotte must be sincere with her patients.
Meeting the tree man's gaze that was full of hope, Charlotte said, "Describe in detail the characteristics of that black magician in the beginning, as well as the specific manifestation of this curse on your body, and I will take the time to consult the information for you to see if I can find a solution."
