"Ha-ha, those who want to catch me, kill me, or seek reward, come and join the game I've meticulously prepared for you - the Path of Slaughter. Now, you have only four choices, four directions to enter the Hengduan Mountains. Of course, you can choose to withdraw, but once you're in, there's no turning back. Either play to the end or die," Kapulos read from the paper in his hand, his voice reaching everyone's ears clearly. The word that flashed in everyone's mind was "madness."
An unparalleled madness, facing the assault of a million people and nearly a hundred Saint-level fighters, and yet not retreating but playing a game. A tremendously insane and bloody game, risking the lives of a million people.
"Arrogant," the Saint-level fighters from various families and forces exclaimed in anger after Kapulos finished reading. It was a contempt for the entire continent.
Kapulos and Katie, too, showed anger on their faces. The Sword Sect and the Magic Sect had limited contact with Ye Han, with most information reported by subordinates. But Ye Han's move now even disrespected the two sects, which naturally angered them.
"He's right, we either withdraw now or we only have four ways to enter the Hengduan Mountains," Katie said seriously after the burst of anger.
"Hmph, the sky is vast, he can't confine us," a late-stage Saint-level fighter from the Flame Dragon Empire retorted angrily.
"If it were an ordinary time, I don't think anyone could force us to enter from there, but now, heh, you can try if you don't believe it," Katie responded without anger, knowing that internal strife was the last thing they needed.
"Let's try then," said the fighter from the Flame Dragon Empire, flying towards the Hengduan Mountains. However, after penetrating a thousand meters into the mountains, he suddenly disappeared, leaving everyone puzzled.
With a scream, a headless corpse flew towards the crowd, landing heavily about fifty meters in front of the ruins of Alunke'er City.
"My master said, you can only enter from four directions to qualify for the game. Otherwise, you lose the right to play," a chilling voice echoed from the mountains. Moments later, four ripple circles appeared to the east of Alunke'er City ruins, resembling spatial black holes.
Clearly, those who wanted to play the game could only enter from these four locations. Any other way would lead to certain death.
"He must have used some method to completely isolate that space. It's impossible to sense anything inside with mental power," Katie, as a member of the Magic Sect and a peak Saint-level fighter, quickly sensed the situation. Now, every direction except the west behind them was the same.
With a roar, the largest Earth-type dragon spat out a blazing dragon flame, smashing it towards the eastern side of the Hengduan Mountains.
A distance of a thousand feet was traversed in the blink of an eye, and the space quivered slightly. Rings of spatial ripples rapidly dispersed, followed by a tremor in the space. The dragon flame, now twice as fast as before, hurtled towards the ruins of Alunke'er City.
"Boom!" Everything exceeded everyone's comprehension. They couldn't understand why the dragon flame, which was shot out, vanished silently. They were unclear about what exactly was happening there.
By the time everyone reacted, the dragon flame had already fiercely struck the ruins of Alunke'er City. Within a fifty-foot radius, no one survived. A million people had gathered at the ruins of Alunke'er City, already standing densely packed. This attack alone killed tens of thousands and rendered hundreds of thousands incapable of fighting.
"All the Saint-rank powerhouses watched the ground in disbelief, horrified. There were screams, shattered bodies, thick white smoke, and the stench of charred flesh filling the air.
"Ha ha, don't try to attack here. Doing so will only result in losing most of your people before the game even starts," a figure standing on the back of a black dragon sneered. His long, snow-white hair fluttering in the wind revealed his identity to everyone.
To the Saint-rank powerhouses, a thousand feet was clearly visible. Everyone sensed that Ye Han merely possessed the strength of a ninth-rank peak. Yet, this man, not even a Saint-rank, had caused the deaths of a million people, the destruction of three cities, nine giant dragons, and dozens of Saint-rank powerhouses in less than a year. A ninth-rank individual causing panic across the entire continent.
"If you fear death, you may choose to leave. I won't force you," Ye Han said, and then rode his remaining Abyssal Nether Dragon towards the Transverse Mountain Range.
Leaving was an option Ye Han gave them, but no one moved. A million people had come to kill Ye Han, but if they were scared off by his tactics, it would be worse than death, inviting ridicule from the entire continent.
"Roar! My dragon clan will choose first," a Earth dragon roared, flying towards a spatial ripple. The other twelve hurriedly followed.
"I from Sword Sect and Law Sect will choose one; you others choose separately," these people weren't fools. They understood that Ye Han's four choices had a purpose and would not allow everyone to enter the same direction.
After Kapulos finished speaking, he exchanged a glance with Katie, then led sixteen people from their two sects to another location. The remaining fifty or so quickly split into two groups, each leading their own people swiftly in.
Watching the actions of the people outside, Ye Han smiled faintly. He looked at the blood-colored crystal in front of him. Everything he did today was for its growth.
After Jester and other survivors left, Ye Han spent two days recovering and then began preparing for today's events. To kill as many of the incoming people as possible, Ye Han used all his Saint-rank magic cores and three hundred ninth-rank cores of each type to set up the grand formation of Thirty-Six Great Yan Divine Array.
It was one of the super arrays from the memories of an Immortal King. To set it up, Ye Han sent all his Saint-rank zombie beasts and corpse slaves to kill Saint-rank magical beasts in the Transverse Mountains for their cores. It took about twenty days to complete this grand array covering thousands of feet. To enhance its effectiveness, Ye Han ordered eight Saint-rank corpse slaves to sit at eight positions of the array, commanding it.
Of course, Ye Han didn't have the energy to activate it now. In the end, he thought of a way: using the God-rank corpse slaves from the Apocalypse Prison to start the array. That led to everything happening today.
People continuously entered, like passing through a layer of white paper. Once inside, they found themselves in a strange environment.
The sky above was a black, endless void, always a chaotic grey, like the darkest twilight. The grey sky churned endlessly, indistinguishable as clouds or fog.
Ye Han stood above the array, everything within the formation visible to him. With a single wave of his hand, four huge stones flew towards four isolated spaces.
"Boom!" The stones heavily landed on the ground. Everyone immediately looked at the stones.
"Weak ants are not qualified to play. Within three days, only ten people can survive in each space to continue playing the game." The words written in blood on the stones deeply shocked everyone. They understood the meaning of the words.
A battle for survival ensued.
