The bid of eighty million silenced everyone. No further bids were made. Although the major powers were prepared and did not underestimate the fierce competition for the saint-level magic core, they did not expect so many hidden forces in Myat, nor did they expect these forces to be able to produce so much money in such a short time.
The red-haired girl, clearly struggling with a difficult decision, is a fire-element mage and has reached the pinnacle of a ninth-level mage. Possessing this saint-level fire-element magic core, along with the magic wand she had just won at the auction, would make her nearly invincible among her peers.
With furrowed brows and a steady gaze towards VIP room thirteen, the red-haired girl suddenly smiled cunningly. "Ninety million."
Gasps of shock filled the room at the red-haired girl's bold bid. Ninety million was an immensely large sum.
Yehan was even more anxious, watching the contest between the two. The strength they displayed far surpassed all other powers present. The two substantial bids made him reassess the forces on this continent.
"Ha ha, very good," came from VIP room thirteen, with a tone of surprise and a hint of amazement, but no anger.
"One hundred million," the room announced after a moment of silence, shocking everyone with the staggering bid.
The entire room erupted. The individual in VIP room thirteen was seen as insane for offering a billion gold coins for a saint-level magic core, skyrocketing the price.
"Damn, which power does VIP room thirteen belong to?"
Even representatives of major powers in other VIP rooms couldn't help but exclaim. Many sent people to gather information on VIP room thirteen, curious about this mysterious power.
Upon seeing the bid of one billion gold coins, Yehan felt dizzy. Coming from a poor background in his previous life and having never seen, let alone imagined, such wealth, this was overwhelming.
"How do you see it, little sister?" Inside VIP room thirteen, a man and woman sat comfortably on a sofa, leisurely observing the auction. Despite their calm demeanor, the identity of the bidder intrigued them.
"We're familiar with the other powers, and it's no surprise they could gather such funds quickly, but there's one person here I can't see through," the masked woman spoke in a light, melodious voice. Her graceful figure and sweet voice hinted at her stunning beauty.
"The person you're referring to is that red-haired girl?" The man, seemingly playful, turned serious. His sister, known for her insight, rarely found someone she couldn't read.
"Not her. Though she bid strongly twice, her actions also revealed some information," the woman explained.
"Then who? Is there someone even more inscrutable than her?" The man asked, his calm exterior belying his inner turmoil.
"Person in VIP room five."
"What? That's impossible. He only made one bid, and it was practically meaningless. How could he?"
"It's precisely because of that one bid that I can't see through him."
"Explain," the man urged, clearly confused by his sister's words.
"He bid one gold coin for a priceless, saint-level magic core when others were too intimidated to bid first. Would you have done the same?" she challenged.
"Of course not. That's asking for trouble," the man replied without hesitation.
"Exactly. Since you wouldn't, neither would the other powers. But he did. Isn't that suspicious? Moreover, he hasn't bid since. Is he out of money? Unlikely, given his access to the VIP room. Does he not care for these items, or why make such an incomprehensible bid for the magic core?" she listed her doubts.
"Maybe he's unable to compete with the other powers, so he stopped bidding."
"Brother, you're becoming duller," she teased.
"Then explain clearly. You know I'm not as smart or perceptive as you," the man said, deflated.
"I think he's not lacking in strength to compete with the other powers; he simply chooses not to. Or maybe he's the actual owner of the magic core, using this auction to observe the major powers present," she speculated somewhat despondently, her confidence shaken by Yehan's actions.
Upon hearing this, the man's eyes brightened, and a smile returned to his face. "Ha ha, this is getting interesting."
"You only think about playing," the masked woman looked at her brother with a mix of annoyance and helplessness. "Of course we play. Isn't it tiresome to constantly chase and kill like them? Such a life is quite sad," the man said cheerfully.
The woman shook her head at her brother's playful nature, knowing even their father couldn't control him. Her thoughts, however, remained fixated on the mysterious individual in VIP room five.
Yehan was unaware that his playful
bid had drawn the attention of a major power, which would have caused him deep regret.
"One hundred million for the first time. Any further bids?" Penelope announced in the now silent auction hall, her voice echoing the astounding bid.
"One hundred million for the second time. Any more bids?"
At this price, no further bids were made, and the record-setting saint-level magic core seemed destined for VIP room thirteen. Penelope prepared to finalize the sale.
"One hundred million and fifty thousand," the red-haired girl bid, now the only one capable of competing with the individual in VIP room thirteen.
"One hundred million and fifty thousand for the first time."
"One hundred million and fifty thousand for the second time."
"One hundred million and fifty thousand for the third time."
"One hundred and ten million," VIP room thirteen slowly bid again, raising it by ten million.
The red-haired girl smiled charmingly at the new bid. The man sitting beside her couldn't help but swallow hard at her alluring smile.
The girl slowly stood up, smiling towards VIP room thirteen, and then, to everyone's surprise, walked out of the auction hall, disappearing from sight. This sudden turn of events left everyone in disbelief.
"She's not playing anymore?" The man in VIP room thirteen exclaimed, watching her leave.
"You're still laughing," he said to the woman beside him, his tone harsh but devoid of any real anger.
"Who told you to play? Now she's gone. How will you handle it? That's one hundred and ten million."
"Little sister, you know you're the best. Can you..."
"Don't even think about it. Even if I lend it to you, we don't have enough together."
"Oh no, we're doomed."
"Wait, we have enough," the man suddenly said.
"How so?"
"I saw mother secretly give you a purple crystal card before we left. I think..."
"You," the woman started to protest, but seeing her brother's mischievous smile, she couldn't stay mad.
"Please, little sister. I'll definitely pay you back," he pleaded pitifully.
"Fine, fine," she relented, handing over two purple crystal cards from her space ring. "Remember to pay me back."
"Definitely, definitely."
"One hundred and ten million for the first time."
"One hundred and ten million for the second time."
"One hundred and ten million for the third time. Sold."
Penelope quickly hammered the auction gavel. The intense and tumultuous auction of the saint-level magic core was finally over, and her heart, previously in shock, finally settled. The auction had concluded perfectly.
The audience, still in shock, gradually left the auction hall. The major powers departed with a mix of regret and anger. After Penelope handed over the ninety-nine million gold coins earned from the auction to Yehan, minus the auction house's commission, Yehan quickly left the Camilla Auction House without waiting for further conversation.
"Go, inform our people outside the city to be cautious. The waters in Myat City are getting murkier. Tell them to stay inside if it's not necessary to go out," the Saint Son of the Church of Light, Xisedo, instructed his subordinates as Yehan stepped out of the auction house.
"The Church of Light's people, what about tonight?" Yehan thought, looking at Xisedo and his group. Xisedo, sensing Yehan's gaze, looked back but dismissed him as a mere fifth-level practitioner and walked past with an air of arrogance.
