Chapter 40 - The Secret Technique Revealed, The Domain Shattered

The red glow intensified, and within Ye Han's perception, the fire element within the domain became even more ferocious than before. As the agitated energy gathered, Kristin greedily stared at Ye Han as if the latter's cultivation technique was already in his grasp.

With a loud shout, Kristin punched towards the space where Ye Han was, and a red sphere of energy rapidly detached from his fist, shooting straight at Ye Han.

The red sphere followed an eerie trajectory towards Ye Han, who felt that no matter how fast he moved, he couldn't evade the incoming energy.

"Boom!"

A massive wave of energy exploded centered on Ye Han. Fire shot into the sky, making the domain's fire element even more violent. Kristin, smiling, flew towards the explosion site, raising the crystal-like object in front of his chest and muttering an incantation.

As Kristin whispered, the crystal-like object emitted a ripple, but it instantly returned to normal, causing Kristin's brows to furrow.

Suddenly, a faint ripple of space occurred behind him, and Kristin quickly turned around.

"Puchi,"

The sound of piercing flesh rang out. Kristin's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at the purple-scaled hand that had penetrated his body. He knew that his heart was now in that hand.

"How is this possible?" he uttered incredulously.

"The law?" said the owner of the purple hand calmly.

"Within your domain, although my energy is negated, your control over space is not perfect," Ye Han said, standing before Kristin.

"Impossible, you haven't reached the holy tier, you shouldn't be able to detect..."

"I wouldn't have been able to detect it, but thank you for that."

As soon as Kristin launched the red energy, Ye Han knew it contained the power of the holy tier's laws. There are gaps between spaces, and that energy was propelled through those gaps by Kristin's command, aiming for Ye Han.

This is the power of the holy tier—understanding the laws allows one to utilize the gaps in space, removing spatial barriers and the energy loss during traversal, increasing both the speed and power of an attack. With control over energy enhanced by the laws, the accuracy is greatly improved as well—another reason why the holy tier stands at the pinnacle of the continent.

Upon discovering this, Ye Han utilized his understanding of speed from the infernal teachings and the flaws within Kristin's domain. As the deadly strike approached, he disappeared from the spot.

The first layer of the zombie's three great secret techniques of speed, "Extreme."

Ye Han's body moved through the gaps in space, reaching unprecedented speeds. This is the first layer of the zombie's secret techniques of speed, "Extreme."

Moving through the gaps in space without touching the spatial fabric, Ye Han didn't emit a trace of spatial fluctuation, and Kristin naturally didn't sense any of Ye Han's movements. Kristin's own greed for Ye Han's cultivation technique and overconfidence in his strength led to his downfall.

"Your essence blood, I'll take it," Ye Han said, the gray light shining brightly from his hand holding Kristin's heart, which he now extracted.

A mass of dark red blood slowly gathered above the heart, eventually forming a blood clump the size of an egg. The powerful blood energy emanating from the essence blood and the hint of Kristin's soul within it caused Ye Han's eyes to flicker with gray light, which soon settled.

Remembering the consequences of refining the black dragon's essence blood, Ye Han resisted the urge to consume it immediately. With a flick of his finger, a surge of energy from his palm enveloped the essence blood in the air, and he swallowed it.

The zombie body not only requires blood to sustain itself but is also an excellent reservoir for blood.

With his heart extracted, Kristin's bodily functions rapidly declined, and in less than a dozen breaths, they ceased completely. His remaining soul also slowly dissipated.

As Kristin's soul faded away, the domain he had released also began to collapse.

Ripples spread through the sky from where Ye Han had vanished, stones flew, and dust filled the air. When the dust gradually settled, a figure in a black robe appeared in the sight of the onlookers, lying in front of him was none other than Kristin, the head of the Kleris family.

Those who saw it gasped in shock, looking at the figure in the black robe standing amidst the ruins as if they were looking at a monster.

"He killed Kristin, a holy tier strongman," a bystander said to the person next to him.

"Impossible, he only has the strength of the ninth tier, how could he have killed Kristin, who had entered the holy tier?"

Everyone looked on in disbelief at the scene before them.

Suddenly, a powerful force that shook the soul came rushing forth. Without thinking

, Ye Han vanished from the spot. Before the afterimage even faded, another figure in a black robe appeared ten yards away.

The elder, presumably named Selt, watched the flickering shadow on the ground with more shock than ever before. Being the strongest in the Kleris family and nearly two hundred years into the holy tier, he recognized that the shadow was moving through the gaps in space, evading his attack.

"Let's go together, kill him, we cannot let this child live," the elder commanded, his anger over Kristin's death and Ye Han's formidable sword technique strengthening his resolve.

Relying on the ninth tier's strength and powerful sword techniques, even within the domain, Ye Han had killed the domain's master. The elder instantly guessed that Ye Han must have used an even more powerful sword technique inside the domain to kill his son, Kristin, who had merged with his domain.

As Kristin's brother and sister, they were equally shocked by his death. Now, without any regard for the dignity of the strong, they all made their moves, each strike containing the force of laws, their intent to kill Ye Han was evident.

Releasing all of his soul's strength, sensing the gaps in space, Ye Han continued to weave through them, evading the powerful attacks of one holy tier and two ninth-tier peak mages.

The trio's attacks lost their target just as they were about to hit Ye Han, exploding in all directions. The battlefield was soon filled with numerous large pits, dust and explosions were continuous, and the powerful fluctuations of energy made hearts race with fear. People trembled deep down, unsure if they were more afraid of the black shadow's speed or the Kleris family trio's power.

Suddenly, a profound fatigue emerged in Ye Han's flickering soul, alarming him. The constant movement through space was depleting his soul's strength, and he felt weary.

"This won't do, sooner or later, I'll be killed by their joint attack, but they've completely blocked my escape routes." As Ye Han was distracted, his movements slowed just a bit.

That tiny delay was all it took for a powerful attack to hit Ye Han's back.

"Puh!"

The force of the attack shattered Ye Han's insides, and his body was torn open in several places. Like a bullet leaving the barrel of a gun, he shot forward, carving a twenty-yard-long trench in the ground.

The trio didn't miss the chance to kill Ye Han, foregoing any further words. They launched three even stronger attacks at Ye Han.

At this moment, Ye Han, his body a blur of flesh and blood, had no way to evade these three deadly strikes.

But just as the attacks were about to reach him, a powerful presence that Ye Han had never felt before suddenly enveloped the entire battlefield. Ripples of space formed, and the three energy attacks aimed at Ye Han vanished upon touching these ripples, leaving him shocked. "Such strength, to nullify three powerful attacks with just his presence..." Ye Han struggled to turn his head towards the source of this power.

"Selt, do you wish to die? You dare to openly defy the continent's rules," Ye Han looked up at the figure in the sky, a man in golden attire, tall and with a stern face, his hair flowing in the wind, his clothes as steady as a rock.

"He killed my clan member and the family head, should we just let it go?" Selt, the elder, said with a trembling voice. Ye Han could tell it wasn't a quiver of injustice, but of fear. Fear of that man.

"Hmph," the person in the sky huffed coldly, causing Selt to shake violently, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth, shocking Ye Han. "Who is that person, with just his released presence, he managed to injure Selt, who is so much stronger than Kristin?"

"Don't use such excuses to cover up your actions today. It's an insult to my intelligence. You know the dirty tricks better than I do."

Selt's face flushed and paled, his gaze uncertain. "But we can't just let him go," he said viciously, looking at the grievously injured Ye Han on the ground.

"Then what do you propose? As long as it doesn't violate the continent's rules," Ye Han listened in confusion. He had heard the term "continent's rules" several times, but what exactly those rules were, he did not know.
