Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: "Reconciliation Chat"

Ayesha stared at her mobile screen late into the night after having dinner with her family. She felt the need to address the awkward situation between her brother and her friends. She decided to create a chatroom that included Abhinav, Karthik, Anupriya, and herself, hoping to facilitate a conversation to clear the air.

After waiting for about an hour, she received a notification that she had successfully added everyone to the group. In the chatroom, everyone exchanged greetings to kick off the conversation.

Karthik: "Hey."

Abhinav: "Hello."

Ayesha: "Hi."

Anupriya: "Hello, everyone. I created this chatroom because Ayesha wanted to say something to you guys."

Ayesha: "Sorry about how my brother behaved today."

Abhinav: "It's fine. It's not your fault. In fact, we are really grateful to you because of you, we were able to hire such a competent lawyer. We are well aware of how hard it is to get an appointment with your brother, so you really did us a great favor."

Karthik: "Abhinav is right. Your brother might be a little bit of a jerk, but I have no doubt about his competency as a lawyer."

Ayesha: "Thank you for your understanding, but still, there's no excuse for his behavior."

Anupriya: "Please stop blaming yourself for others' mistakes. Let's change the topic."

Ayesha: "Hey, I noticed all of us have a really good understanding of each other. We have the potential to be a great friend group."

Karthik: "I can't argue with that. Let's hang out sometime without any serious business."

Abhinav: "These days, other than the case issue, I am jobless anyway. I have so much free time on my hands, and it might be good for my mental health."

Anupriya: "I am only free on Saturday and Sunday."

Ayesha: "Then let's plan something for next Saturday or Sunday."

Karthik: "How about a movie?"

Anupriya: "Anything is fine, other than horror."

Karthik: "Come on, I was planning to book tickets for that real-life-based horror movie."

Abhinav: "We have to drop the idea. Anu is sensitive about horror movies, especially real story-based."

Karthik: "Fine."

Abhinav: "What about a meditation class?"

Karthik: "Boring."

Ayesha: "I'm already feeling sleepy just by listening."

Abhinav: "Come on, guys."

Anupriya: "Cafe with a library?"

Ayesha: "But we can't talk there."

Karthik: "Club?"

Ayesha: "I'm up, but Anupriya doesn't like crowded places."

After thinking for a while...

Ayesha: "What about my farmhouse for a one day and two nights trip?"

Karthik: "Sounds cool."

Abhinav: "If it's away from the city, it might be very relaxing. I'm up; I need a break anyway."

Anupriya: "If everybody is ready, then how can I say no?"

Ayesha is really excited about all this because before she never tried to get close to Abhinav, thinking it wasn't possible due to his inflexibility and her status as her sister's friend. But after today's meeting, Ayesha saw a glimmer of hope. She thought, "Since things are going well, why not take a chance?"

Anupriya, who knows her friend well, decides to be an observer and waits for Ayesha to share her feelings when she's ready.
