That weekend, Nick went to visit his father as he had requested. It's been a long time since the father and son duo had a good talk. As his father was a head in the National Health services, He rarely had time to even witness most of his sons growth. Nick's mother died when he was five and since then his relationship with his father never improved, one could say that there was only respect between them but deep down they really cared for and understood each other.
At first Nick thought his father never cared about him or loved him but later when he grew matured, he realised his father had done everything for his sake because after he built his own company he didn't even had enough time for himself let alone his father who is a medical staff in the national health service.
"Hello, Dad" Nick said.
"My good son, you are here. Welcome" His Dad, Mr David Thompson said.
"Thanks, You asked for me?" Nick said as he sat down.
"Yes since you won't look for your father, I guess I had to look for you myself.How is your company doing now a days ?" Mr David asked casually.
" The company is doing just fine" replied Nick.
" Of course with someone as capable as you, it would be doing great. By the way I heard sometime ago that you made a branch into the arts industry but I didn't get the chance to ask you about it, how is it at that side" Mr David asked again while sipping his tea.
" Yes that's about six months ago and it's doing great too. The partner I chose to invest in is very good and has provided significant results over the course of this six months" Nick replied seriously.
" That's good to know but I want to ask when you are planning to start your own family?" asked Mr David with a serious expression.
" Am still thinking about it" Nick replied calmly.
"That's what you always say when I raise this topic or do you need me to introduce you to a girl myself" Mr David asked with a slightly raised brows.
" Don't worry about that. I will be more serious about it this time" said Nick.
" You better be or else in a months time if you don't get yourself a girl,I will arrange one for you myself. look at me, I keep growing old as time flies. Don't you want me to see my grandchild before my death?" Mr David said with helplessness.
" Don't worry, I give you my word" Nick said.
Just then Theo came in.After greeting Mr David, He whispered something to Nick. Nick bid farewell to his father. But before leaving his father gave him a reminder.
"Try to set a dinner for miss Julie and me anytime soon" Nick said as they bored the car.
" All of a sudden?, Is there any business coming up?" Theo asked curiously.
" No, I just want to know more about her" Nick said nonchalantly.
" Is your father urging you to get married again?" Theo asked with a smile.
" He gave me a month or he would set me up for a blind date himself and you know he does whatever he says" Nick replied.
" So you are scared. Am really enjoying it now" Theo added with a laugh while Nick glared at him from the front passenger seat.
"If it wasn't for the fact you are driving I would have gave you a kick" Nick said playfully.
" Don't worry I will set you up" Theo said as he Burst into another uncontrollable laughter.
The next day, Julie received Nick's invitation. After discussing with Magret, she decided to go. Magret even advised her to seize that opportunity and get close to him since she(Julie) herself had quite a good impression of him.The dinner was set for the next evening and so they agreed for Nick to pick Julie up at the gallery.
That night, Magret took her time to dress Julie up. Julie wore a knee length floral dress with a light makeup and a heel.She looked stunning that night as her long hair fell on her body. You could withness both youth and maturity in her presence. She also had a small bag to complement the dress.
"Miss Julie, Mr Nick is already downstairs" Lucy said as she stepped into Julie's office.
But as she entered, she couldn't help but praise Julie for her immense beauty. At that time ,she was a little bit nervous. Julie went downstairs and gradually walked towards Nick. At first, he had his back facing her but when he turned around after she mentioned his name, Nick stood there dumbfounded.
He couldn't deny that fact that she was very beautiful and attractive. In all, he couldn't resist her charm.
As Nick turned to look at her, her heart skipped a beat. He wore a suit with the first two buttons opened thus making his chest a little bit exposed.She couldn't take her eyes of him as he was really handsome that day.
"Hello" Julie broke the silence.
"Hello, you look beautiful tonight." Nick replied as he opened the gate to the front passenger seat for Julie to sit before going to start the car.
"Thank you and same to you" Julie said with a smile.
The road to the restuarant was very quiet as neither of them talked to the other in the car. The restaurant they went to this time was very luxurious. Julie has never been to such a high profile place before so it made her a little awkward.
When they got to the hotel lobby, Nick walked straight to the receptionist and told her their reservation. After that a staff led them to a private room. There they st down and made their order and ofcoursenick pulled out the chair for Julie to sit
After they finished enjoying the meal, They went to the other side of the private room and sat on the sofa.
"So is there anything you are quite interested in?" Nick asked.
" yeah quite a lot like watching movies, singing and dancing and painting. What about you?" said Julie.
" Nothing much, I've been quite busy at the company" Nick said gently.
" oh okay" Julie replied with a smile.
" Yes. so now you are twenty right?" Nick asked again.
" yeah but I will turn twenty one in two months time and you" replied Julie casually.
" Am currently twenty four" said Nick.
That night they talked about random things and even got to know that they had a lot in common.This outing made their awkwardness around each other slowly reduce. Their feeling towards each other also increased.
