MARIAM'S POV
WHILE I was riding on Sir Airroz's car, I could feel the awkwardness between the two of us. I just turned my eyes outside the window to at least relieve some of the awkwardness between the two of us.
"Why did you choose to apply in my company?" He asked that broke the silence between us.
"Because of money," I honestly said.
I could feel him looking at me but he immediately turned his eyes back to the road. I just looked straight out of the car.
"World revovles with money. We just have to deal with it," he said.
I just nodded and didn't speak again. A few minutes later, we finally arrived at our house.
"Just stop here. Your car won't fit in there. I'll go first, thank you," I said and was about to close the door of his car when he suddenly grabbed me on my waist causing me to turn around to him.
"W-why, Sir?" I stuttered.
"I will bring you in front of your house," he suggested.
I frowned and looked at him and turned my gaze on his car before I spoke, "You might lose some parts of your car if you'll leave it here. The parts of your car are expensive." I protested.
"I insist," he said and lled the way as if he knows where we're going.
"Our house is on the right side, Sir," I said.
"Oh, sorry," he shook his head apologetically.
I refrained from laughing because he might react badly but I couldn't hold back my giggles any longer, causing the loud laughter that I had been suppressing to come out.
"What's funny?" it's a wrinkly question.
"Do other rich people really like that? Leading the way even if they don't know where they're going?" I asked with a restrained laugh.
"Lead the way, then," he said while signaling me to walk first with his hand.
I shook my head laughing and led the way. After we arrived near to our house, I heard the whispers of people living near us, but I ignored those whispers and focused more on our way.
"So, you live in this kind of place, huh?" he asked.
I stopped walking and turned to him before I spoke again, "Are you insulting me or what? If yes, you can start walking away from our house." I said as I looked directly at him.
I saw the shock on his face then he immediately defended himself, "I-I didn't mean to offend you, woman. I was just asking," he said while scratching the back of his neck.
I just rolled my eyes and led him to our small house again.
"Sister!!" Fern shouted when we passed near Aling Fe's house.
"Who is he, Sister?" She asked while pointing at Sir Airroz.
"Is your sister already home?" Aling Fe suddenly groped then went out of her house.
"S-sir Airroz?!" She asked in surprise when he found Sir Airroz outside her house who's currently looking at him.
It's just surprising that Sir Airroz's facial expression didn't have a hint of shock when he saw Aling Fe.
"Hey there, head department!" Sir Airroz shouted.
"So, you both live in the same place?" he added.
"Y-yes, Sir!" Aling Fe said.
"Sister, who is he?" Fern asked again causing our attention to turn to her.
I bent down to touch her shoulders and answered her question with a smile, "He is the owner of the company I work for, Fern," I said with a smile.
"Is that so, sister?" he said.
I nodded before speaking again, "Aling Fe, we'll go first," I informed.
"Be careful," Aling Fe said and then entered her house while Fern and Sir Airroz and I walked to the house where we are staying.
"Sister, Chesca and Kuya Yrac are here!" Fern said that surprised me!
How?! Why is Yrac here?!
"Yrac? That name sounds familiar, hmmm," Sir Airroz uttered.
I bit my lower lip slightly and my heart beat faster when Yrac came out of the house.
"S-sir Airroz?!" Yrac asked in shock when he saw Sir Airroz behind me.
"Oh! Now I know why that name's a bit familiar. Hey there, Mister Martinez!" Sir Airroz greeted with a smile, causing Yrac to force a smile and shake his hand.
"What are you doing here, Yrac?" I asked him to break the silence that prevailed between us
"I forgot to tell you that I'm off today, so as compensation, I'm the one who watched over your sisters because they will be my siblings anyway," Yrac said with a smile.
I could feel my cheeks heating up and I was sure they were red with excitement. I know it's not appropriate at the age of twenty-two to be excited but I can't help it because what he said is true. Just a little patience and I will agree to be his girlfriend again.
"Yay! Sister is thrilled!" my two sisters teasing me but I eventually realized that Sir Airroz is here that made me stopped them.
"Enter the house first, Sir. Let's have a dinner prepared by Yrac," I said.
His jaw clenched and I heard him took a deep breath that made me feel discombobulate.
"I-it looks like you're sweating too much t and getting bitten by mosquitoes, Sir Airroz. I'm sorry about our place," I apologized shyly.
For the second time around, he took a deep breath then spoke, "I'm going. Enjoy your dinner with your siblings and boyfriend," he said and suddenly left us.
Yrac is not my boyfriend.
I frowned and looked at his back until he disappeared from my sight before I faced Yrac and my siblings again, "Maybe he's not into in our place. Come on, let's forget about him," I said with a smile then entered our little home.
Minutes passed before Yrac left the three of us, "I think it's getting late. I'm leaving, Mariam," he said with a smile then looked at my two siblings, "Fern, Chesca, brother is going home," he smiled.
"Be careful, Brother Yrac!" Fern said kindly, causing me to smile.
I'm glad, we're like a family which I've long dreamed of because ever since I grew up I've never felt a family that loves each other.
"Take care of your Sister!" Yrac raised his eyebrows.
"Noted, Brother Yrac!" Chesca uttered.
Yrac waved to us before completely disappearing from our sight so we decided to arrange our beds.
"Goodnight, Fern and Chesca," I said then kissed them on their cheeks before I lay down on the floor and started to sleep.
The next morning I woke up early because someone knocked on our door. I stretched first before I stood up then I opened the door causing it to spit out Yrac smiling wide in front of me.
"Hey? It's still early?" I asked because it was still dark outside when I opened the door.
My work is eight o'clock in the morning so I frowned and looked at him causing him to smile even more at me.
It's not yet eight o'clock.
"Because I didn't sleep much last night. Aren't you tired?" he randomly asked.
"No? Why?" I doubt it.
"Last night, you were running around in my mind, Mariam," he said, making my cheeks redden.
"Corny! Hahaha!! Come in and I'll heat some water so we can make coffee and warm our stomachs," I said then opened the door for him to enter.
"How was your night? Didn't anyone dare to enter your house?" he asked after I finished heating the water.
I sat on the chair first then put my hand on our small table.
"Nothing, haha! He can't get anything from our house either," I laughed and then took a sip of coffee.
We asked a lot of questions before I decided to take a shower. I woke up my siblings first before I enter the comfort room.
After I showered, I immediately got dressed in the bathroom and hurried out because Yrac and I were enjoying our conversation so much that we didn't notice the time.
"I'm really sorry Yrac. I'm rambling. Maybe Aling Fe is looking for us," I said nervously.
I can feel the look and hear the whispers of other staff here in the company. Maybe it's because of Sir Airroz delivering me that's why people can't move on until now.
"Why do they seem to be talking about you?" Yrac asked while frowning.
"Maybe because Sir Airroz drove me last night," I said while scratching my neck.
When we got to our Department using the elevator, I heard Sir Airroz's baritone voice causing me to startle and start hiding behind Yrac.
"What I don't like about everyone is that you're not complete!! I'm giving you a high amount of salary but you're not fixing your work?! Hah! I can't believe this! I'm warning everyone! Once someone is late that automatically means that person is fired!" he said and walked away.
He passed us by but didn't throw a glance at us. I'm afraid thta I might get fired. The salary that I've received is way better than my previous job.
This is my fault. Yrac doesn't deserve to be late because of my stupidity.
"I'm sorry," I bowed down as tears began to fall.
"Shhhh. It's not your fault," he said then hugged me.
We entered our department together and I could feel our co-workers angry looks
"F-forgive me," I sincerely apologized then I bit my lowerlip.
"I admit it, I'm mad at you. We're affected by Sir Airroz's anger. Next time, make sure that you'll learn not to be late. It would be fine if it's an emergency. But because of your baby time we're all being scolded. Know your limitations as a couple, girl! Be professional," Andrea said then sighed.
"I'm really sorry," I pleaded.
"Just fix it next time, Mariam and Yrac. Just like what Andrea said, be professional," said Aling Fe.
WE STARTED to clean the places that needed to be cleaned of while we were carrying the trolley.
While I was cleaning near the comfort room. I was surprised to see the person stepping on the mop I was carrying with, causing me to see Sir Airroz looking at me.
Why will he use a public comfort room when he has a comfort room on his penthouse? I often don't understand the way his brain works.
"I-I'm cleaning," I bowed.
"Look at me directly in my eyes," he said causing me to raise my eyes to him.
I suddenly felt a sense of dread, main reason for me to step back until I felt the wall behind me, a sign that it was over.
"S-sir," I almost cry while saying it.
"F*ck! I hate this feeling! D*mn it!" he said then punched the wall causing me to close my eyes in shock.
"You bewitched me, woman!" he said and left in front of me but his cursing continued as he walked.
I was feeling weak, but I was trying hard not to sit down.
"What's happening to me?" I whispered to myself.
Shaking my head, I took the mop again and started cleaning again.
"Are you tired? Here, drink some water," Yrac said then lend me a bottled of water when we finished cleaning our designated areas.
I didn't tell Yrac about Sir Airroz punching the wall because the issue might grow.
"I'm fine, it looks like you need that, Yrac. You're sweaty and you look thirsty," I laughed.
"Ah. Hehe. I'm sorry, I finished my area so that I could help you, but I'm running out of time," he said, shaking his head.
I sighed then shook my head before speaking, "You don't have to do that, Yrac. I don't want you taking over my job. Next time, don't do it, please. I won't be happy if you do it again, Yrac," I warned. I was about to touch his cheek when suddenly Sir Airroz came causing me to lower my hand.
"Ms. Ramirez! Clean my penthouse. Change the arrangementa of ky furnitures," he said and was about to leave when I suddenly spoke.
"What you are ordering is no longer part of my job, Sir Airroz," I protested.
That's true! In fact, it's not my job to clean his penthouse anymore because if I'm not mistaken, that's is the job of different department.
"Who is the boss between us?" it was a rude question.
"You," I said then looked at the floor.
"Then follow my rules," he said and left in front of us.
