I knew that the rogue abomination absorbed. It consumed its many victims, adding the skills and talents of those unfortunate to be collected into the bubbling, writhing mass of gray flesh.
Sola's elder sister was but one of many who shared that tragic fate. I had decided that her body would be preserved before being reunited with her sister, after which I expected a proper burial. I also expected the same for the rest of the commandeered corpses under the influence of the abomination.
The explosion rendered that last part moot. My original vision of a grand funeral for the fallen was no longer possible. Instead they would be remembered, their memories carried on by those they left behind.
At least I could still bring Sola the body of her sister. Speaking of the body, it went limp the moment Frank plunged his spear through the abomination's chest. The thread of control I sensed was severed completely and utterly, leaving not a trace behind.
