Using my enhanced senses, I quickly determined that we were in another city altogether, located to the west near one of the fortresses standing on one of the valleys that separated Esaori from the Blighted Lands.
The dark magic that drooled from the Blight Lands bled here like a faint mist. The air was polluted with the mild smell of rot and smoke. If not for my barrier, I guessed that the smell was even more putrid in reality.
The Void-Whisperer looked at me through his cowl. The smile on his face never faded, but my I noticed it tremble ever so slightly whenever I fluttered the magic within me.
Ever since I decided to stay at Paladimantum for a bit longer than initially planned, I made sure to cast the spell that hid most of my magical aura, thereby making me seem unimportant and weak in the eyes of other mages.
