When I saw Paladimantum using my enhanced senses, I saw a city surrounded by vast forests and seldom any fields of which most other cities had. In fact, if there were any farms nearby, they were often isolated and small, not enough to sustain a large city.
However, seeing that it sported a large and busy port with all ships and sizes sailing about, I assumed that it got most of its food from whatever sea trades it had with others.
Alas, it was time for us to visit the city itself.
The Golden Spears offered to use a teleportation scroll to help facilitate our travels. Scrolls were old-fashioned mediums used to contain spells. They were cheap, easy to produce, and generally did not require much skill to use.
That was how I remembered scrolls being. Instead, it seemed like scrolls had become much more powerful, and expensive.
