There would always be a cost. But for now, the Commonwealth was just a little bit safer for now. "Let's make sure it stays that way," Sico muttered under his breath, already thinking ahead to the next fight.

Sico stood on the battlefield, his eyes still scanning the remnants of the Raider camp. Flames had reduced much of it to charred rubble, but amidst the destruction, he knew there could be useful resources that had survived the chaos of battle. With every skirmish, every confrontation, the Commonwealth's future was being forged piece by piece. Every resource gained was a step toward securing that future. It was time to see what the Minutemen could salvage from the ruins.

He tapped into his comm, his voice steady and resolute. "Sarah," he said, "I want you to take the remaining soldiers who aren't injured and sweep the Raider camp. Look for any supplies, materials, or gear that survived the battle. We need everything we can get—ammunition, medical supplies, anything that could help us in future fights."

"Understood, General," Sarah responded immediately. There was a note of determination in her voice, as if she understood the importance of what Sico was asking. Supplies were often as crucial as the soldiers who fought beside them. Without the right resources, they wouldn't last long in the unforgiving landscape of the Commonwealth.

Sico watched as Sarah gathered the uninjured soldiers. Thirty-three of them remained, hardened and battle-weary but still standing. They moved swiftly under Sarah's direction, forming into small squads that spread out through the smoking ruins of the Raider camp. Each group fanned out carefully, weapons still at the ready in case of any hidden dangers or lingering threats.

The camp was larger than it had first appeared—an old industrial site that the Raiders had fortified with makeshift barricades, repurposed military equipment, and scavenged materials. As Sico observed the movements of his soldiers, he couldn't help but think about how much territory the Raiders had controlled before the Minutemen had pushed them back. The Commonwealth was a land of constant power struggles, and every faction that gained ground made life harder for those who sought peace.

Sarah led her group toward what looked like an old storage facility, its walls still standing despite the battle. They pried open the rusted doors, rifles aimed and ready for any surprises inside. The space was littered with crates and barrels, many of them scorched by fire but still intact.

"Looks like they were stockpiling weapons and ammo in here," one of the soldiers called out as they opened a crate filled with bullets and small arms. "Some of it's damaged, but most of it looks good."

"Mark it for retrieval," Sarah ordered, nodding. "We'll need every round we can get."

The soldiers worked quickly, opening crates and barrels, checking for anything useful. Sico knew that Raider camps often held surprising treasures—scraps of old technology, stolen supplies from caravans, or even military-grade equipment that had been scavenged from battlefields long forgotten.

Another squad, led by one of Sarah's lieutenants, was sweeping through a series of tents that had once served as the Raiders' living quarters. Most of the tents were little more than burned-out husks now, but they still found stashes of food, water, and medical supplies that had been hidden in storage containers beneath the ground. The Raiders had clearly been preparing for a long siege—stockpiling what they could to survive. Now those supplies would serve a different purpose: fueling the Minutemen's war effort.

"General," Sarah's voice crackled over the comm again, "we've found a decent amount of ammo, medical kits, and food. Nothing too fancy, but it'll help restock our supplies. There's also some Raider tech—ramshackle weapon mods, mostly. Might be useful if we can get someone to tinker with it."

"Good work, Sarah," Sico replied. "Keep looking. We can't afford to leave anything behind."

As the soldiers continued their search, Sico couldn't help but feel the weight of responsibility pressing down on him. Every decision he made, every life lost or saved, was a part of the larger struggle to restore order to the Commonwealth. The Raiders were just one threat among many—Super Mutants, Gunners, and other dangerous factions still roamed the land, carving out territories and terrorizing settlers. The Minutemen were the Commonwealth's only hope of stability, and that meant seizing every opportunity, every resource that could help them turn the tide.

As the search progressed, one of the squads came upon what appeared to be the Raider's main armory. It had been partially collapsed by the Sentinel's bombardment, but there were still racks of weapons and munitions that had been spared from the destruction. Old military rifles, shotguns, and even a few rocket launchers were carefully lifted from the debris.

"General, you'll want to see this," one of the soldiers called out.

Sico made his way over to the armory, his eyes narrowing as he inspected the weapons. These weren't standard Raider junk—these were military-grade, probably stolen from caravans or old military stockpiles. This was the kind of firepower that had made Griggs so dangerous, the reason he had been able to unite so many disparate Raider factions.

"We need to get these back to base," Sico said. "Make sure they're carefully packed. And sweep the area for any more explosives or hidden traps. The Raiders loved to rig their camps with booby traps in case of a defeat."

"On it," the soldier replied, signaling for his team to begin a detailed search of the armory for any hidden dangers.

Sico turned his attention to the rest of the camp, where the other squads were continuing their sweep. The Minutemen were efficient, gathering up everything of value they could find. He saw soldiers loading crates of ammunition onto makeshift sleds, ready to haul them back to their transport vehicles. Others were marking down the locations of medical supplies and food stores to be collected later.

As he surveyed the scene, Mel approached from the direction of the Sentinel. He wiped some sweat from his brow, his hands still covered in grease from the repairs.

"General, the Sentinel's in decent shape," Mel reported. "We've patched up some of the surface damage, but we'll need to bring it back to base for a more thorough check-up. Still, it'll hold up for now. It's a damn tough machine."

"Good," Sico said with a nod. "We'll need it in top shape for whatever comes next."

Mel grinned, clearly proud of the work he'd done. "You know me, General. I'll have it running smoother than ever by the time we're back at base."

Sico appreciated Mel's confidence, but his mind was already turning to the future. The battle with Griggs was over, but the Commonwealth was still far from safe. The Minutemen had won a significant victory today, but there were always more enemies lurking in the shadows—enemies who would strike when they least expected it.

After a few hours of careful searching, Sarah's squads completed their sweep of the camp. They had managed to recover a decent haul of supplies—ammunition, medical kits, food, and even some advanced weaponry. It wasn't a massive treasure trove, but it would help keep the Minutemen's efforts moving forward.

Sarah approached Sico, wiping some dirt from her face. "General, we've gathered everything we could find. The camp's pretty much picked clean now."

"How's the morale?" Sico asked, his voice low.

"Better now that the fighting's over," Sarah replied. "But losing those seven men… it's hard. They were good soldiers. The others are feeling it, but they know what we're fighting for."

Sico nodded. "We'll honor them when we get back to base. For now, let's focus on getting everyone home. We'll need to regroup and prepare for whatever comes next."

Sarah gave a firm nod, her eyes filled with resolve. "Understood, General."

As the soldiers finished loading up the supplies and preparing to move out, Sico took one last look at the Raider camp. The fires were dying down, the smoke drifting lazily into the darkening sky. This was just one battle in a long and brutal war for the future of the Commonwealth. There would be more fights, more sacrifices. But Sico knew that every victory, every inch of ground gained, brought them closer to their goal—a land where people could live without fear, without the constant threat of violence and chaos.

"Let's head out," Sico said, his voice carrying across the camp. The soldiers moved quickly, gathering their gear and preparing to leave the battlefield behind.

As they marched away from the ruins of the Raider camp, Sico knew that the road ahead would be long and dangerous. But he was ready for whatever came next.

The journey back to Sanctuary was a quiet one, the convoy of Minutemen vehicles rumbling across the rugged terrain of the Commonwealth as dusk settled over the landscape. The soldiers, weary from battle but steeled with determination, rode in silence, their eyes scanning the horizon for any signs of danger. Though the immediate threat had been dealt with, the Commonwealth was never truly safe, and vigilance was a necessity.

Sico sat at the front of one of the lead transports, his gaze fixed on the road ahead. His mind was already racing with thoughts of what lay ahead. The Raiders under Griggs had been a significant threat, but they were just one piece of the larger puzzle that plagued the Commonwealth. Super Mutants, Gunners, and various other hostile factions still roamed the wasteland, waiting for their chance to strike. This war for survival was far from over.

As they approached the familiar sight of Sanctuary's towering walls, a sense of relief washed over the soldiers. The settlement had become a symbol of hope in the Commonwealth, a place where people could live in relative peace, protected by the Minutemen. For Sico, it was more than just a base of operations—it was a beacon of the future they were fighting for.

"General," Mel's voice crackled over the comm, breaking Sico from his thoughts, "we're about ten minutes out. The Sentinel's holding up fine, but I'd like to get it into the Science Department as soon as we arrive. It's going to need a full diagnostic after the beating it took."

"Understood, Mel," Sico replied. "I'll make sure the Science Department is ready to receive it. Once we're inside the gates, park the convoy in the designated area and get your team on the Sentinel as soon as possible."

"Will do, General," Mel said, his voice filled with a mix of exhaustion and pride.

The convoy rolled through the gates of Sanctuary, greeted by the familiar sight of settlers and engineers moving about the bustling settlement. Word had already spread about the victory against Griggs' Raiders, and many of the settlers waved or gave nods of approval as the Minutemen vehicles passed by. They understood the significance of the battle—it wasn't just about defeating a Raider gang; it was about securing their future.

Sico directed the convoy to the large parking area near the main courtyard, where the Minutemen's vehicles were routinely stored and maintained. As the trucks and transports came to a stop, soldiers began unloading the supplies they had recovered from the Raider camp—crates of ammunition, medical kits, food, and weapons. Every item was accounted for, marked down by the quartermasters, and prepped for redistribution to the various departments.

Sico disembarked from his vehicle and immediately turned to Mel, who was still checking over the Sentinel. The towering mech had taken a beating during the battle, its once-pristine armor now scorched and dented from the fight, but it had held up remarkably well.

"Mel," Sico called out, walking over to the Sentinel, "I want you to contact the Science Department and let them know we're bringing the Sentinel in for repairs. They'll need to clear some space for your team to work."

"Already on it, General," Mel replied with a grin, pulling out his comm device. "I'll have the crew ready by the time we get it parked. It's going to take a few days to get it back to full capacity, but it'll be better than new when we're done."

Sico nodded. "Good. We'll need it ready for whatever comes next. The Commonwealth isn't going to wait for us to catch our breath."

Mel gave a thumbs-up, already deep in conversation with one of the technicians from the Science Department. Sico watched as he relayed instructions, ensuring that the Sentinel would be moved to the appropriate bay for repairs. The Science Department was one of Sanctuary's most advanced facilities, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for everything from weapon development to mechanical engineering. It was the perfect place to house the Sentinel while it underwent repairs.

As Mel's team began the careful process of moving the massive mech toward the Science Department, Sico turned his attention back to the soldiers who were unloading the rest of the supplies. Sarah, ever the efficient leader, was overseeing the operation with a keen eye, making sure that everything was properly documented and distributed.

"Sarah," Sico called out as he approached her. She looked up from her clipboard, giving him a tired but satisfied smile.

"General," she greeted. "We've managed to recover quite a bit from the Raider camp. The quartermasters are already working on sorting through the supplies. We should be able to replenish most of our stockpiles."

"Good," Sico replied, glancing at the crates stacked neatly around the parking area. "We'll need every bit of it. The fight against Griggs was just the beginning. We've still got plenty of enemies to deal with."

Sarah nodded, her expression growing more serious. "I know. The men are tired, but they're ready for whatever comes next. Morale's holding steady, but we can't afford to lose too many more like we did today."

Sico's jaw tightened at the thought of the seven soldiers they had lost in the battle. Each death weighed heavily on him, but he knew that they had died fighting for something greater than themselves. It was a harsh reality, but one he had come to accept in this war-torn world.

"We'll honor them," Sico said, his voice firm. "Once we're settled, we'll hold a ceremony for the fallen. Their sacrifice won't be forgotten."

Sarah gave a small nod, her eyes filled with determination. "Thank you, General. It'll mean a lot to the others."

With the supplies being sorted and the Sentinel on its way to the Science Department, Sico made his way toward the central command building, his mind already turning to the next steps. The victory against the Raiders had been crucial, but it was only one piece of the larger puzzle. There were still countless threats lurking in the Commonwealth, and the Minutemen would need to be prepared for all of them.

As he entered the command center, he was greeted by a flurry of activity. Officers and strategists moved about, updating maps, reviewing reports, and coordinating patrols across the Commonwealth. Sico headed straight for his desk, where a stack of reports awaited him—intelligence on enemy movements, supply lines, and updates from other Minutemen outposts.

He sighed, rubbing his temples as he sat down. The weight of leadership was a heavy burden, but it was one he had taken on willingly. Every decision he made affected the lives of those around him, and he couldn't afford to falter now.

A knock at the door pulled him from his thoughts. It was Sarah, her expression serious as she stepped inside.

"General, I just received a report from one of our scouts," she said, holding out a piece of paper. "There's been some unusual activity near the old military base to the east. The Gunners might be planning something."

Sico took the report, his eyes scanning the details. The Gunners—another ruthless faction that plagued the Commonwealth. If they were mobilizing near the military base, it could mean trouble.

"Looks like we're not getting much rest," Sico muttered, standing up and grabbing his coat. "Get the officers together. We'll need to figure out our next move."

Sarah gave a sharp nod and left to gather the officers, leaving Sico alone with his thoughts. The fight for the Commonwealth was far from over, but as long as the Minutemen stood together, they had a chance.

Steeling himself for the challenges ahead, Sico knew one thing for certain: they would keep fighting until the Commonwealth was free.
