Sico nodded to himself as he finished his speech. The energy from the gathered Minutemen filled the air with a palpable sense of purpose, a quiet intensity that spoke of courage and resolve. He took a deep breath and made his way over to Preston Garvey, the trusted second-in-command of the Minutemen, and Sarah Turner, one of the group's most seasoned strategists. Both stood by the side of the crowd, looking over a set of hastily scribbled maps and lists of personnel.

Preston was the first to notice Sico approaching. "General," he greeted, offering a small smile of encouragement, though his face was serious. "You've got them fired up, ready for anything."

Sico nodded, appreciating the support in Preston's eyes. "We're going to need that fire," he replied. "We can't afford any slip-ups with this mission. Now, tell me, Preston, how many troops do we have mobilized for the assault on Gunner Plaza?"

Preston glanced down at the papers in his hand before responding. "We've got a total of 650 people ready to move, General. That's every able-bodied Minuteman we've been able to muster from all the settlements within range. Most are riflemen, with a mix of scouts and medics."

Sico absorbed the number and nodded approvingly. "That's good. It's more than I expected, but the more, the better. What about the specialized units?"

Sarah Turner, who had been listening closely, chimed in. "We have three Power Armor squads, each consisting of ten people," she said. "These squads are outfitted T-51 suits we managed to restore to working order. They're armed with Gatling lasers, missile launchers, and heavy rifles. They'll be our spearhead, General, taking the brunt of the enemy's fire while our infantry moves in behind them."

"Excellent," Sico replied. "The Power Armor units will be crucial in breaking their defenses. And the Commando teams?"

Sarah nodded. "Five Commando teams, with five members each," she continued. "They're our best-trained fighters—specialists in stealth, sabotage, and close-quarters combat. Their job is to infiltrate the Plaza before the main assault and neutralize key targets: the sentry turrets, any snipers, and their communications relay. If we can blind them and cut off their ability to call for reinforcements, we'll have a much better chance."

"Good," Sico affirmed, his mind rapidly processing the information. "650 Minutemen, 3 Power Armor squads, and 5 Commando teams. That's a strong force. Strong enough, I think, to give the Gunners a real fight."

Preston leaned closer, his voice dropping slightly. "We'll still be outnumbered, General. Reports say they have around a thousand fighters holed up in that Plaza, but most of them are undisciplined mercenaries. They rely on shock tactics and brute force, not strategy. If we hit them hard and fast, we can use their own numbers against them."

Sico nodded, a determined look crossing his face. "Exactly, Preston. The Gunners have the numbers, but we have the advantage of preparation, surprise, and resolve. They're spread thin over the Plaza, and their morale is low after Quincy. We'll strike where they're weakest and push through with everything we've got."

He turned to Sarah again. "I want the Commando teams in place by dawn, ready to move in under the cover of darkness. The Power Armor squads will follow them, and as soon as the infiltrators signal that they've neutralized their key defenses, we'll launch the main assault."

Sarah nodded firmly. "Understood, General. We'll move quietly, stay hidden until the signal is given, and hit them where it hurts."

Sico turned back to Preston. "Have the rest of the troops assemble near the western approach to the Plaza. Keep them in the shadows until we're ready to advance. Make sure everyone knows their roles, and that no one engages until the signal is given. We need to maintain the element of surprise."

Preston saluted sharply, determination in his eyes. "Consider it done, General. We'll be ready."

Sico nodded, satisfied with their preparations. "Good. Let's make sure the Gunners remember this day. We'll show them that the Commonwealth belongs to its people, not to mercenaries and raiders."

Preston and Sarah both nodded, their expressions serious but confident. Sico felt a surge of determination rise within him, a feeling that this was the moment they had all been waiting for—a moment that could change the future of the Commonwealth forever.

The next morning dawned with a pale, gray light filtering through the early morning fog. The chill in the air carried the promise of a tense day ahead, but the Minutemen moved with purpose, the crisp air buzzing with energy and determination.

Sico stood on a raised platform near the makeshift garage, watching as the convoy took shape. Humvees, trucks, and Power Armor suits were lined up, engines idling softly, their exhausts puffing small clouds of white in the cool air. Mechanics and soldiers moved among the vehicles, making last-minute checks, tightening bolts, and loading supplies. The clatter of metal, the low hum of machinery, and the murmurs of conversation formed a background symphony that filled the entire camp.

Sico scanned the scene with a practiced eye. Everything seemed to be falling into place—the vehicles looked ready, the troops organized and prepared. He could feel the tension in the air, a mix of nerves and anticipation. This was it. Today, they would strike at the heart of the Gunners' stronghold.

Spotting Jenny near a group of Minutemen volunteers at the supply depot, Sico made his way over to her. Jenny was busy overseeing the loading of several crates into the back of one of the trucks. Even in the midst of the chaos, she maintained her composure, directing her team with swift, decisive gestures.

"Jenny," Sico called out as he approached, his voice carrying over the noise. "How are we looking on supplies for the attack?"

Jenny turned to face him, a slight smile touching her lips. "General, we're in good shape," she replied. "I've got all the munitions sorted and packed into separate caches as we discussed—one for the main strike team, one for the diversion team, and one for the reinforcements. Everything's clearly labeled, so there shouldn't be any confusion during the operation."

She glanced at her clipboard, quickly running through the checklist. "We've loaded up enough ammo for all the firearms, including some extra rounds for the heavy machine guns and snipers. Explosives are packed and ready for the breaching teams. We've also got a decent stockpile of stimpaks, RadAway, and medical kits to treat any injuries and deal with radiation exposure if we hit any contaminated areas."

Sico nodded, his eyes briefly flicking to the convoy and then back to Jenny. "And food and water? We might end up in a prolonged fight."

Jenny nodded confidently. "We've packed enough rations and water canisters to last us at least a week, just in case things don't go as planned. Every vehicle has a small supply, and we've got more in the reserve trucks. If we need to pull back or set up a temporary base, we'll be covered."

Sico felt a sense of relief. Jenny had thought of everything. "Good work, Jenny," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder in appreciation. "We can't afford any mistakes today, and it sounds like you've made sure we won't run short on anything critical."

Jenny nodded, her expression serious. "I'm confident we're as ready as we can be, General. The Minutemen are counting on this to work, and I won't let them down."

Sico smiled, feeling a wave of gratitude. "I know you won't, Jenny. None of us will. This is our moment."

She gave him a firm nod. "Absolutely, General. We've come too far to fail now."

As Jenny returned to overseeing the final preparations, Sico stepped back, continuing to survey the scene. He saw Sturges wiping his hands on a greasy rag, having just finished the last tune-up on one of the Humvees. Mel was already busy with the radios, making sure every team had a secure line for communication.

Sico's gaze moved to the troops, who were clustered in small groups around their vehicles, checking their weapons, adjusting their gear, and speaking in hushed tones. He could see the determination in their eyes, the same fire he had seen the night before. They were ready—every single one of them knew what was at stake, and they were prepared to give their all.

A moment later, Preston appeared at his side, his rifle slung over his shoulder, his face set in a look of quiet resolve. "General, the troops are ready to move on your command," he reported.

Sico nodded, taking a deep breath and looking out at the gathered force. "Alright, Preston. Give the order. It's time to move out. Let's show the Gunners what the Minutemen are made of."

Preston nodded sharply and turned to relay the order. A ripple of movement went through the convoy as engines roared to life and drivers checked their gear one last time. The Power Armor squads, standing like silent sentinels, began to move forward, their servos whirring and heavy boots thudding against the ground.

Sico felt his heart race as the convoy began to roll out, the trucks and Humvees moving in formation, flanked by the imposing figures of the Power Armor units. He climbed into the lead vehicle, glancing back at the column stretching behind him, the Minutemen ready and poised for action.

As they began their journey towards Gunner Plaza, Sico couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions—anticipation, fear, determination. But one thing was clear: today, they would make a stand, and no matter what happened, they would fight for the Commonwealth's future.

The convoy moved steadily through the fog, the rumble of engines and the sound of marching feet echoing in the morning air. The time for planning was over. Now, it was time for action.

After five hours of steady travel, the convoy finally came to a stop at the outskirts of Gunner Plaza. The fog had lifted as the sun climbed higher in the sky, revealing the crumbling skyline of the Commonwealth in the distance. The ominous silhouette of Gunner Plaza stood tall on the horizon, a grim fortress of steel and concrete, bristling with makeshift barricades and watchtowers. Sico could make out the faint movement of figures patrolling the walls—Gunners, ready to defend their stronghold at any cost.

Sico raised a hand, signaling for the convoy to halt. The vehicles slowed to a crawl, and soon, the rumble of engines faded into a low hum. The Minutemen disembarked from their vehicles, immediately getting to work, aware that every second counted. Sico stepped out of the lead Humvee and looked around, quickly assessing the terrain.

They had stopped in a relatively concealed area—a small wooded grove offering some natural cover, flanked by a low hill that provided a vantage point over the road leading to Gunner Plaza. The ground was uneven, with patches of grass and dirt, but it would have to do. This would be their staging ground, their command base for the assault that would commence at dawn.

Sico turned to Preston, who had already dismounted and was waiting nearby. "Preston, I want a command camp set up here immediately. We need defensive positions in case they try to scout us or launch a preemptive strike. Have the troops start building barricades and setting up a perimeter."

Preston nodded. "Got it, General. I'll have teams start digging trenches and setting up sandbags. We've got some portable barriers in the trucks; we can use those to fortify our position."

"Good," Sico replied, then gestured towards Sarah Turner, who was standing a few feet away, overseeing the unloading of supplies. "Sarah, I need you to coordinate with Jenny. Start establishing our field hospital over there," he pointed to a small clearing just behind the main camp area, "and make sure our medics are ready for anything."

Sarah nodded briskly. "Understood, General. I'll have the medical tents up and running in no time."

Sico moved quickly from group to group, checking on the preparations, issuing orders, and making sure everything was in place. He noticed a few soldiers setting up communications equipment, antennae being raised towards the sky. Mel was already working on the radios, ensuring a secure and reliable line of communication between all the units.

As Sico passed by the engineers, he saw Sturges directing a few Minutemen to set up a few makeshift watchtowers. "Sturges," Sico called out. "Make sure those watchtowers have a good line of sight to the Plaza. I want any movement spotted and reported immediately."

Sturges wiped his brow, nodding with determination. "You got it, General. We'll have spotters up there in no time."

Sico continued moving through the camp, watching as small tents were pitched and more sandbags were hauled into place. The camp was coming together quickly, taking on the shape of a small military outpost. The Minutemen moved with purpose, their actions precise and efficient—years of experience in guerilla warfare and survival in the harsh Commonwealth had taught them well.

Jenny approached him, clipboard in hand, her expression focused. "General, we've got the supply tents up, and I'm distributing rations and water to everyone. I've also got the munitions depot set up in a concealed area, just like you asked. We're ready for whatever comes."

Sico nodded approvingly. "Excellent work, Jenny. Make sure every soldier knows where to find extra ammo and medical supplies if they need it. And keep everything under cover. The last thing we need is a Gunner patrol spotting us and getting a whiff of what's coming."

Jenny nodded. "Will do, General."

Sico took a moment to take in the activity around him, feeling a swell of pride in his chest. The Minutemen were ready. Despite the cold wind biting at his face and the dull ache of exhaustion settling into his bones, Sico felt a surge of determination. They were here, at the edge of the enemy's territory, preparing to strike a decisive blow against the Gunners.

He turned his gaze back toward Gunner Plaza, where the enemy lay in wait, unaware of the storm about to descend upon them. He knew the risks—they were outnumbered, and the Gunners had fortified their position well. But they had surprise on their side, and they had the will to fight for a cause that was just.

Preston returned to his side, saluting. "The camp is taking shape, General. We should be fully operational within the hour."

"Good," Sico replied. "We'll start finalizing our strategy as soon as everything's set. Keep the men alert and rested. They need to be at their best tomorrow."

Preston nodded. "Understood. I'll make sure everyone gets some rest in shifts."

Sico took a deep breath, feeling the cold air fill his lungs. "We'll strike at dawn. Until then, we stay vigilant. Tomorrow, we take the Gunner Plaza."

Preston saluted again, his face determined. "Yes, General. The Gunners won't know what hit them."

With that, Sico continued to oversee the final preparations, knowing that soon, the Minutemen would face their greatest test yet. The calm before the storm was always the hardest part—the waiting, the planning, the anticipation. But as the sun began its slow descent, painting the sky in shades of orange and red, Sico knew that the dawn would bring with it a new chapter for the Commonwealth.
