Chereads / NEBULION / Chapter 2 - Invisible Threads of Destiny.

Chapter 2 - Invisible Threads of Destiny.

A few minutes before the impact:

**Opening Scene:** The camera starts at Vae's house, revealing quite, dark and empty streets lit by street lamps and the moonlight soaring through the sky at night. It then transitions to Vae's apartment.

The scene shifts to the inside of a dark room, softly illuminated by the light of a mobile phone. Chloe, (Vae's guardian), can be seen listening to music with her headphones on while engrossed in scrolling through her phone.

As Chloe scrolls through her phone, the shot reveals a mysterious light in the sky, descending toward the city in her window. This captivating sight grabs Chloe's attention, prompting her to rise from her bed while removing her headphones.

"Whaat..." Chloe utters, clearly perplexed by this unexpected occurrence. The brightness of the mysterious light briefly transforms the night into day. As quickly as it appeared, the light vanishes from sight, but Chloe's phone promptly blares a loud alert.

"WARNING: METEORITE IMPACT ZONE. EVACUATE THE AREA," a stern alarm tone emanates from her phone.

Chloe hears a deafening explosion in the distance, and worry fills her.

She hurries out of her room, making her way to another room in the apartment.

"VAE!" Chloe shouts as she opens the door to Vae's room. "VAE, YOU ASLEEP? WAKE UP!" she implores, yet there is no response from Vae.

"Vae...?" Chloe's voice softens as she approaches his bed.

With increasing concern, Chloe yanks the blanket from Vae's bed, only to find pillows underneath.

**Scene:** Realizing that Vae is not in his room, Chloe swiftly grabs her phone and dials Vae's number.

"Pick up the damn phone!" Chloe exclaims as it rings, but there's no answer from Vae. She repeats her attempts, her anxiety mounting with each futile call.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts to reach Vae, Chloe dials another number. After just two rings, it's answered.

"Hello, police," Chloe says as the screen fades to black.

*Scene ends.*

Cut to the present time:

**Scene:** The screen is black as muffled chatter can be heard, accompanied by a continuous beeping sound in the background.

From Vae's perspective, his eyes slowly open as he lies on a hospital bed. The image starts blurry and then gradually sharpens. Vae groans.

He glances around, spotting Chloe asleep in a chair beside his bed.

"Chloe?" Vae utters, attempting to wake her.

"Hey, Chloe!" Vae repeats, this time louder.

Chloe stirs at the sound of her name, her eyes focusing on Vae.

"Oh my God, you're awake," Chloe exclaims as she approaches him.

"Yeah," Vae replies, rubbing his head.

"My head hurts," Vae adds, accompanied by a sharp sound from his perspective.

"Easy, take it easy," Chloe reassures him as she helps him sit up in bed.

The noise gradually fades out the background as Vae settles into his bed.

"Where are we?" Vae asks, his voice low.

"Central Hospital," Chloe responds. "You've been unconscious for three weeks."

"Three weeks? Really?" Vae inquires, surprised.

"Yes, three long weeks," Chloe replies, her voice growing louder.

"What... What exactly were you doing at that airstrip, huh?" Chloe demands angrily.

"Airstrip?" Vae responds, his tone confused as a flashback plays in his mind.

**Scene:** The quick flashback shows Vae recalling his nighttime walk to the airstrip along with his friends.

The flashback cuts abruptly, zooming in on Vae's wide-open eyes.

"Oh... Hey, Chloe... Where is everyone? My friends?" Vae asks with concern.

"They're all fine, but you... you're the only one who had to be hospitalized," Chloe replies, her voice breaking.

"Do you have any idea how scared I was?" Chloe's voice trembles as tears fill her eyes.

"I was so scared... I thought..- I thought I lost you," Chloe says, sobbing.

Vae gazes at Chloe with guilt in his eyes, fully aware of his wrongdoing.

"I'm... sorry, Chloe," Vae apologizes as Chloe draws near and hugs him.

Chloe hugs him tightly, tears flowing down her cheeks.

"Thank God you're awake," Chloe says between sobs.

"I'm sorry I made you so worried," Vae responds as he hugs her back.

**Scene:** The shot transitions to some time later, with Vae sitting on his bed, facing Chloe, who sits in a chair.

"How did you find us?" Vae questions.

"I didn't," Chloe replies.

"When I went into your room and saw you weren't there, I called the cops," Chloe explains.

"Oh," Vae responds.

"I told them you had disappeared, and about 30 minutes later, I got a call back," Chloe says.

"They told me they had found group of teenagers along with a boy matching the description I gave them on the crash site of that meteor."

As Chloe recounts the details of the event, confusion becomes evident on Vae's face.

"Meteor?" Vae asks, his voice filled with confusion.

"Yes, a meteor fell on that airstrip, didn't it? You were there?" Chloe questions.

"What..." Vae begins, attempting to recall the events.

"Listen, the cops will be here soon. They need to get your statement. Make sure to tell them everything that happened, okay?" Chloe advises.

"Cops? Why?" Vae questions.

"You kids were found passed out in a danger zone. They need your statement for their reports, probably," Chloe replies.

"Oh, I see," Vae says, his tone subdued as he looks down.

*Scene ends.*

After some time:

**Scene:** The camera starts from the roof, panning down to focus on Vae sitting on his bed, with two officers sitting on chairs in front of him, while Chloe stands in the background.

"So, tell us. What did you see? Start from the beginning, please," Officer 1 requests.

"What were you doing there? What did you see? Tell me," Officer 2 adds, eager to hear Vae's account of events.

As Vae begins to narrate his story to the officers, quick, vague flashbacks play, visually representing the scenes he describes.

"I... I remember leaving the house to go downstairs. I had a text from June to come down. I was confused; I didn't know why they were there," Vae starts.

"So, I sneaked out without letting Chloe know," Vae continues, with the camera briefly focusing on Chloe for a few seconds.

"They told me they were going to explore that abandoned airstrip, as they had planned," Vae explains.

"I had no idea we had planned it, or that I was involved, but they asked me to come along and.. I agreed," Vae recounts.

"I remember... walking to the airstrip through the dim lit streets, as we cut through the restriction fences..."

"I remember," Vae pauses.

"Remember what?" Officer 1 inquires.

"I think... there was a rusted... uh... plane, and then..." Vae trails off.

"Then?" Chloe prompts.

Scene: The complete focus is on Vae's face as he looks down, trying to recall the events. He looks back up at Chloe and the officers.

"I... don't... remember," Vae says, his voice filled with frustration and confusion.

"What? What do you mean? Think? Try to recall?? what happened after you entered the airplane," Officer 1 urges.

"I'm trying, but... I can't... I can't recall what happened. It's a white blur in my memory," Vae says, his face filled with a growing sense of worry.

*Sighs* Officer 1 expresses disappointment.

"So, it's the same, huh?" Officer 1 says in a disappointed tone as he looks at officer 2.

"What? What's the same?" Vae asks, puzzled.

"Well, we questioned all of your four other friends as well, hoping that someone could tell us what exactly happened on that airstrip," Officer 2 explains.

"And... all of them... have the same story," Officer 2 adds.

"What do you mean?" Vae asks, thoroughly confused.

"None of them remember what really happened. All of them, including you, have no recollection of what happened after you entered that rusted plane," Officer 2 states.

"But that's..." Chloe begins.

"Impossible? No, Miss Chloe, that's not even the 'impossible' part," Officer 1 interjects.

"The 'impossible' part is that there was not a trace of this "RUSTED PLANE" they entered... Hell, there was no meteor either...there's no trace of it... not a single piece of debris, leftover residue. No... NOTHING," Officer 1 emphasizes.

"But... I... I surely remember there being an old plane... and I remember entering it," Vae insists.

"Couldn't the impact have made it... disappear?" Chloe suggests.

"Ma'am, we searched for miles. If there was an old plane or a meteor that could turn the night sky into day. there would be some sort of residue, but... there's nothing, almost like it turned into dust," Officer 2 explains.

Scene: Focuses on Vae as he breathes heavily, looking perplexed at Chloe and the officers.

The screen gradually fades to black.

*Scene ends.*

After the questioning:

**Scene:** A shot of Vae walking in the hospital hallway, while a conversation between Vae and Chloe talking plays in the background.

"So, when can we go home?" Vae asks.

"The doctor says everything is normal with you.. Even your memory. So, we'll probably be free to leave by evening," Chloe replies.

"I see. Well, I'm going to take a walk," Vae says.

"Alright, but don't push yourself though," Chloe advises.

Vae walks through the hospital hallway, passing by people and nurses.

He reaches the reception area, where he sees the exit door and various people sitting on chairs. Some are on their phones, others are asleep, and a few are engaged in conversation. A little girl is playing alone with a ball, throwing it and chasing after it.

Vae exits the hospital and stands near the railing guard on an active street, where numerous vehicles are going by.

Scene: The camera cuts to the interior of a vehicle, with loud metal music playing. The driver smokes while driving recklessly, speeding and making sharp turns.

The camera cuts to Vae's face, and the little girl can be seen coming out of the hospital exit, unnoticed.

The camera returns to the interior of the vehicle, showing the driver speeding up and making a sharp turn into the street where the hospital is.

Vae, standing on the side of the road, notices the approaching speeding vehicle.

He turns his head to see the little girl near the road on the footpath, throwing her ball which lands in the middle of the active road.

Without noticing the oncoming vehicle, the girl runs onto the active street to retrieve her ball.

The driver of the vehicle realizes this too late, slams the brakes, however, he was going too fast.

Scene: Everything slows down for vae as the vehicle approaches the girl.

Vae, noticing the imminent danger, tries to run toward the girl, but he realizes he's indeed too slow.

"No... Waittttt..." Vae yells, raising his arm toward the girl.

As the vehicle is about to hit the girl, it is suddenly hit by a mysterious force, slamming it sideways away from the girl, causing the vehicle to flip.

The girl looks back at what happened as she realises her near-fatal mistake and starts crying loudly.

(The slowness around Vae fades away)

A crowd begins to gather around the incident, and the girl's mother rushes over after seeing her.

"Oh my God! Oh my God!! Are you okay? Are you okay?" the mother exclaims, rushing to her daughter and hugging her.

People try to pull driver of the flipping vehicle out through the broken window.

The driver of the vehicle gets out and is fine, with only minor scratches.

Scene: As all of this unfolds, the background noise fades into a blur as Vae stares at his hands in confusion.

Vae as he senses that the mysterious force came from him, but he's shocked and bewildered.

"What... the hell... did I just do?" Vae mutters, looking at the dent he created in the car.

Vae looks back at the crowd and the little girl while he breathes heavily.

The sharp noise plays again as Vae grabs his head as he screams from pain.

"AGHHH" Yells vae as falls to the ground and passes out.

*The screen fades to black*
