Chapter 13 - Divine Hospitality and Valkyrie Awkwardness

As the celestial feast reached its conclusion, Sammy found himself being personally escorted by the mother of all gods to his designated "room." To his shock, the room turned out to be a mansion that left his jaw hanging in disbelief.

Looking at the opulence around him, Sammy grinned and quipped, "I thought I'd be staying with you in your own home."

The mother god, with a playful smile, responded, "Well, if you want, we can share a room."

Sammy, catching onto the underlying joke, made a theatrically horrified expression, "I think I'll pass. Now that I know you want to kill me."

She chuckled and retorted, "I don't want to kill you, Sammy. But if you turn out to be a problem, I'll have to kill you."

Sammy, gulping nervously, shivered at the weight of her words. She continued, "I'll be in my chambers. I have a lot to take care of because of my sons. When I'm done, I'll come for your bedtime stories."

Sammy, genuinely surprised that she took his request seriously, stammered, "You're actually going to tell me bedtime stories?"

She nodded, "Yes, I will. Now, let me show you to your room."

As they approached the mansion, she revealed, "The house was made for you, Sammy. And about the Valkyrie business, someone volunteered to serve you. I guess you're gathering quite a fan collection."

Sammy, intrigued, asked, "Wait, you said the house is to my liking. How did you know I wouldn't run away?"

She laughed heartily, "For two reasons. First, how would you find your way back to Earth?" Sammy realized the divine logistics were quite foolproof. "And second, I saw the future."

This revelation left Sammy wide-eyed. "You know if I'll become a god or not?"

"No, I don't. I can see all possible futures, so I know how you would end up if you don't become a god. And let me tell you a secret—I like you, Sammy. You would make a good child. Too bad your mother didn't live long enough."

Before Sammy could process the sentiment, she added, "Well, I'll see you later," and vanished as if she was never there.

Left alone, Sammy mused, "Well, let's check my new hotel room." As he entered, he was astonished to find a modern-day house with a TV and even the latest PS5 he had been eyeing on Earth.

"I hope I can take this back," he muttered to himself. Just as he pondered, the door swung open, and in walked a tall, beautiful woman in a white gown, holding a tray of food. She looked at Sammy, a tint of red on her face, and greeted, "Good day, Master Samuel."

Managing to close his dropped jaw, Sammy replied, "Just call me Sammy."

She smiled, "As you wish, Sammy." Then Sammy couldn't help but wonder if this divine odyssey had just upgraded to a Valkyrie-served, PS5-equipped sitcom.

Sammy sat on the comfortable chair and said " at this point am considering being a god" he smiled.
