Vincent and the now officially named Revens all went to bed. They went to bed feeling motivated and ready to face the coming days and whatever was thrown at them. The night went by without any problems, and morning came.
Vincent woke up first and started to warm up by shadowboxing. He activated the divider so as not to wake the others. Every punch made the air whistle as he moved around the room. His footwork was smooth and sharp.
He started to add kicks and flips into his practice. In the beginning, there were pauses and hiccups. They soon went away the more he practiced. A timer went off, and Vincent slowed down his movements until he was at a complete stop.
He was sweating, but he wasn't tired. He summoned his poleaxe. Yesterday was the first time he successfully used the move called the first chop. Chopping Mountains is a martial art where the user would swing using their entire body to chop through their enemies.
It made the user attack without being able to defend. It was why Horton made Vincent use twin short axes. One axe would be for defense and the other for attacking. The martial was initially created to be used by someone wielding a poleaxe.
Vincent practiced for a little longer before stopping and taking a shower. Everyone was already up and prepared to leave when he came out of the shower. "Good morning everyone. Today we will be going shopping in groups. Remember to watch each other's back and show them no mercy. We don't know if there is a bounty on our heads."
Vincent put on his cloak and equipped his tonfas. He put them inside of his sleeves. Everyone also readied their weapons and carried them. They all checked their gear. "Remember, Revens are not someone's prey. We are the hunters at all times." Vincent said as he and Talia left the room.
The moment he stepped out, he dodged an attack from above. Talia unsheathed her sword and cut off the attacker's arms. Vincent grabbed them by their neck and retreated inside before their teammates could react.
Talia stood outside in front of the door. She smiled and raised her sword. "Your friend won't be coming out alive. You will all die. The question you should ask yourselves is when you die. Now or later?" The door opened, and two axes flew out. One axe found its mark and lodged itself inside one of the enemy's heads. The other one missed.
The last three tried to run but were cut in half by the wire attached to the axe's handle that had gotten stuck inside the wall. Vincent tugged at the wire and pulled the axe back to him. "Take their items." His face was frosty as he passed the bodies up. He continued walking down the hall.
Talia followed him. Garfield and Isabell threw up on the side of the hallway. Trent gulped at the gruesome sight. Takashi walked over and took everything he could from the bodies. "Garfield, go finish the one on the inside." Meredith stopped him, and a gunshot was heard a second later.
Takashi shrugged his shoulders. "Gar, you came up with the name Revens for us, so you should learn how to live by it." Garfield shakily nodded his head. Takashi gestured for Trent to follow him. Trent gave Isabell a hug and a pat on her back.
"Bruno, watch over her for me." Bruno patted his chest. "Relax, I may come off as a slacker, but I am strong." Trent nodded his head and left to catch up to Takashi. Isabell went down a different hallway with Bruno. Meredith looked at Garfield, who was on his knees praying.
"Gar, it's time for us to leave. Their souls will find their destination." Garfield stood up slowly, wiping his eyes. "I know they were enemies aiming to kill us, and we shouldn't show them mercy, but.." His voice trailed off as he looked around.
"I know how you feel, Gar. This is the reality; you grew up within the church walls, safe from seeing these horrible acts. The world is not as beautiful as the church has made you believe. We have to get a move on."
Gar took one last look and prayed for the fallen people before steeling his heart. He opened his eyes, and they flashed a bright golden color. Instantly, five more individuals were exposed. Meredith shot all of them down before they could react. She sighed to herself. 'Clean-up work is a thankless job.'
Vincent and Talia went to the supply store to buy the beds and other items. Talia would cut down anyone who would try to attack them. She didn't use her sword intent or her elements. Vincent didn't pause his footsteps and walked over the dead bodies.
A golden light would flash by, and then gunshots would ring out. More and more bodies fell as they walked. People quickly realized they weren't hunting them but had turned into the hunted. They tried to run, only to be either shot or cut down. The journey to the supply store left behind bodies and created a river of blood.
Vincent, the man who came up with the plan to split up and kill people who attacked them, did nothing. He didn't release his aura, he didn't speak, he didn't even look at the bodies that hit the floor. He walked straight ahead without spilling a drop of blood.
His face was like a block of stone, unmoving and uncaring. He reached the store and stopped in front of the door. Two other paths led to the store entrance. One could hear screams coming from them.
Meredith readied her sniper rifle. Garfield prepared to release another wave of golden light. Vincent raised his hand. They stopped preparing and moved behind him. Talia stood by his side with the same uncaring expression on her face.
A group of five came scrambling from the path on the left. "Help! HELP US! We didn't mean to offend you. We just wanted to make some extra-" The woman's plead for help was silenced by an arrow through her throat.
Four more came from behind the group and landed in their legs, making them fall. The last thing they saw were two metal blades. Their heads rolled away from their bodies, leaving a trail of blood.
The boy stood up, sheathing his blades. A girl walked with measured steps. Not a drop of blood could be seen on her as she walked with a bow in her hands. Her skin was pale, but her eyes were fierce and cold like a lioness.
They walked and stood behind Vincent and Talia without speaking a word. They were silent, waiting for two more people from the last path. Everyone watching was also quiet and holding their breaths for the unfortunate souls to come running from the path that seemed to lead to hell.
Two men were running for their lives. A spear impaled one of them as he was running. His partner left him behind, only to be stabbed through the neck. Trent walked to the dying man; he was still trying to gasp for air. He grabbed his spear, pulled it out, and sliced his head off.
Takashi wiped his blades on the man beneath him. He retracted to the blades and went inside the store. The group went inside, leaving Vincent by himself. He took in the crowd and their reactions.
He opened his mouth to speak for the first time. "I hope you all got the information you were looking for. Our lives are not quickly taken." One brave bystander stepped out to speak. "Your lives aren't the reason why they attacked you. They attacked you because-" The bystander's head fell on the floor.
"I do not care about their reason for attacking my team. Attacking one of us means you have chosen to forfeit your life. We will take, destroy, bring ruin, and ravage to our heart's content. No one will stand in our way."
The others came out of the store at that time. Vincent didn't look back at them. He started walking forward. The crowd scrambled out of their way. There were many people in the crowd who believed they could put up a fight, but they didn't want to give themselves up. They made themselves more negligible and more unnoticeable. The Revens first outing was successful with no injuries or casualties.
