Before the women parted with the men, Hazel had to speak with Eleanor. Eleanor was a beautiful young woman whose only fault was that her parents had a business in the red-light district. Though she was taken in by her aunt to get away from what her parents did, Eleanor was yet to succeed in finding a man to marry.
Hazel knew their peers liked to gossip, but they were getting ahead of themselves by thinking Eleanor could not get the attention of men around her. Men with status who could give Eleanor a good life.
Perhaps their peers kept trying to ruin Eleanor's confidence because they knew just how much attention she could get if she went after the men who were looking to wed. With Eleanor's new status as one of the queen's ladies, Eleanor had a good group of men who would want to court her.
For helping her, Hazel would help Eleanor to find a husband if she wanted.
