Hazel sat by the window, looking down below at the guards roaming around outside. The home was well protected for no one they didn't want to get inside. It was peaceful to be here. More peaceful than she remembered feeling the day after the wedding when they stayed in the home belonging to a king's former lover.
"They've sent away the gardeners. What if the flowers need to be cared for? They look so pretty in the snow.
Hazel thought this would be a good time for her to do a little bit of work in the garden without being judged or having her maids panicking that she was getting her dress stained with mud.
Hazel had never worked in a garden before, but she had been thinking recently that it might be a bit calming to be the one to plant the flowers she liked. The most she could do was clip a few flowers when she gathered with women during spring.
