"I don't understand one thing. Why go through all the trouble of riding her chances of having a baby when you could just kill her? Do you plan to stop preventing her from having a child once your granddaughter is in the palace? The present queen must die for Linda to be queen," William voiced what many of his peers thought.
Women from the selection would be brought back to the palace if Hazel died. Since Linda did well it would be no surprise that she would be welcomed back. What they needed to do was right before them.

What was the point of doing all of this when Hazel eventually had to die? Grant couldn't want the throne that bad in William's opinion if he wasn't going all the way to get rid of the person in Linda's seat.
