"What am I to do now?" Hazel wondered then placed the last grape in her mouth.
She had eaten what was left in the basket from their earlier picnic and drank all the juice. It wasn't that she was hungry or thirsty, but she was bored and in need of something to do. After putting down the book, she started to pick at the food and ended up eating it all before she realised.
It was over three hours since Tobias left her alone and each passing minute went by slower than normal.
Hazel sat by a window, watching the guards walk by in the distance or the stable boys lead the horses around for a walk. There was much to see as she sat alone, but she still wished for Tobias to return.
Not just to end her boredom but because she imagined that Tobias was fuming at the moment. She had encouraged him to go give his condolences, but she didn't think it would take this long. It would have been best if she went with him.
