"Now that is settled, stop your tears so we can go find mother and have a little family gathering. Wipe your tears and perhaps wash your face. I will wait here for you so we can go together," said Hazel.
"Is it that bad?" Helena asked, wiping her face with her hands. She stood up to go straight to the bathroom and hopefully avoid any mirrors so she wouldn't see her face.
"Do not be afraid to brush your hair!" Hazel yelled so Helena could hear her. "You look as if you had been rolling around on the bed as you cried. We don't need the maids seeing you and thinking there is a ghost in the house again."
"Shut up!"
Hazel chuckled, already back to enjoying the day now that she and Helena seemed to be going right. There was no telling how long this would last, but she was going to trust that with Helena's ugly cry, it was serious this time.
