It is always this damn cycle.
His face sneered down as blood dripped down his face. If he could hate the entire world, at this point he wouldn't mind.
'What have I ever done to be born so weak...'
Before the frail boy could finish his train if thought a punch swooped into his jaw. He stumbled backward and came to a stop behind the wall.
They were in a closed alley and he was probably used to this scenerio. This guys showed him no pity even though he was looking like he would faint any moment from now.
"I'm sorry."
Those were the words he had been spitting all the while but it wasn't like they were going to help. If there is anything Ethan has learnt all his years, it is 'always apologise'
That single rule will piss people off or please them, depending on the situation.
Right now it was pissing them off and Ethan was enjoying it.
Another blow crunched into his belly. He splurted blood with a loud groan, it was almost like he could hear his insides squeeze together.
What the hell was that amazing power.
Ethan slowly lifted his face but before he could admire the face of the school most handsome that just punched him, a kick was smashed into his chest. He hit his back against the wall and slipped to the floor.
A drool of blood leaked out from his mouth as he laid on the ground helplessly.
"Bitch ass, daring to get all friendly with my girl!"
The guy spat on him before walking away majestically.
'Oh, I see... so it's his girl this time...'
Usually, they would just beat him up for no reason, at first Ethan thought they were just envious of him. But after realizing that the guys beating him up are the top dogs of the school he had to ask himself a question of truth.
Why the heck would they be envious?
Ethan continued to receive beatings from them without knowing why, some times he would try to fight back which was very laughable because he can't even run fifty meters without coughing up blood.
The frame of his body is extremely thin, the only good thing about him was his brown eyes and eagle gaze. Every time he stared, it was always as if he was staring into the souls of people.
It was how he got to be handpicked by them. After moving to this city, he came to school and gazed into the soul of everyone, it wasn't intentional. And there were some assholes that really hated it.
They double crossed him and started to beat the shit out of him. He almost died that day and they left him there, fainted.
Only to meet him in school the next day. The annoyingly amazing thing about his body was: It always stand back up.
But what use of the resilience if he can't even throw a proper punch.
'She isn't his girl though...'
Finally able to link what girl it is, he closed his eyes, sweetening himself with good memories of this 'girl'
She was a damsel in distress, except he was at that time there to relief her distress.
The grin on Ethan face at this moment would have led anyone to think he did something outrageous. But he just helped with her falling books.
Their eyes connected in that moment and he knew that they were bound to be together forever.
Even though the most handsome guy in school had his eyes on the same girl. It was a lot of gut.
Ethan's eyes stayed closed, he wished he would die but no matter what, death did not come to him. He knew it would never.
Soon, his body would start to gain its vigor back, enough for him to stand up and walk up.
The only problem was explaining the blood to his mom. But on a second note...
'... I owe her no explanation'
Ethan had been ignoring his mom since they moved into the city. He was seventeen and would eighteen in a few days. In all of his eighteen years, they had probably moved to more than eighty cities.
It wasn't an overstatement, in one year they moved in and out of seventeen cities. As if they were being chased.
And no matter how much he asked her, she kept saying, "Don't worry, it will be fine honey, I will make sure of it!"
"No! I want answers! Why are we moving?!"
"Honey, I can't deal with this right now, just pack your bags and get into the car."
At every endpoint she always ended the argument with that statement and Ethan was very stern about this time. No matter what happens, he wasn't going to comply with her.
He wasn't even going to listen to her until she gives him an explanation.
He had resolved his mind. Thankfully, that was a good escape route for him to avoid answering the question about the blood on his clothes.
-sigh
He slowly stood up and sat on his both, not caring about the dirty ground. He was in a very stinky alley. It was the place they often lured him too.
'Actually, it didn't used to be this place... they must have changed the location after the principal caught them once.'
Ethan shook his head at his pitiful self. He couldn't believe he had actually gotten so used to bullying.
Life is what it is, blame it on thr fragile body.
He stood and took his backpack, one handle had been torn off by the struggles.
"I'll have to sew it back."
Being leisurely had caused him to learn quite a number of hand skills, it'd be a shock to find out just how much he could do. He even kneated a sweatshirt at one time. Having such fragile body means he gets to stay introverted all his life. It wasn't a matter of choice.
Ethan slowly dragged his legs home as he thought about how much his life sucked.
Meanwhile—
"This is getting to be quite a hassle..."
"You are right. This pursuit is getting meaningless."
"Let's end the both of them with the new toys that the boss gave to us."
The two guys grinned at each other as they gazed at the new city from afar, atop a hill. Behind them were two ugly beings in every way possible.
Even though they were almost looking human, they had thick hull instead of back, they were a little hunchback and their hands extended longer than usual, with long black claws and six fingers.
Their face was distorted, almost looking like zombies, tusk protruded from the mouth. Although they looked distorted, their gaze was fear-instilling.
They were what were called HORRORS.
