Harvey
I felt really sorry for her. I didn't mean to use any force but Jeff was right, Alice was indeed a difficult one to handle. And that how it happened.
I stared at her unconscious body and shook my head out of regret. I felt guilty for putting her in this state. But what could I do after all?
You shouldn't have pushed me this far, Alice.
I took her into my arms and headed back to my car. Jordan had been waiting in there and his face turned into horror when he saw us.
"What the hell just happened? Is she dead?"
"No, she's just passed out. Because..." I couldn't finish my words. The guilt took over me and telling it out loud only made it worse.
"You knocked her out, right?" Jordan scanned me with a knowing look.
I nodded. Damn, I never know I would feel this horrible after seeing how vulnerable she looked right now.
"She just. It was hard to persuade her so I did everything needed."
Jordan chuckled. He started the car engine and drove away from that shabby house.
"Easy, Alpha. It would be just between us. I promised."
After driving for about 1 hour, we arrived at the pack's house. The house where the Alpha and his family live. A ridiculously gigantic house with an exterior that was heavy on classical style. And the other members were living on more smaller houses in the same area.
It used to be living in one house back when my Dad still was the Alpha. But I made many changes here and there. One of them was the housing rule. The pack's members could live in separate houses now although still in the same area.
It was better like this, I thought. After all, I do appreciate our pack's privacy. And also mine.
I strode quickly while carrying Alice in my arms and went straight to the master bedroom - my bedroom. Maybe it was a peculiar sight for others to see me bring a girl back home. They threw a glance at Jordan and he replied with a simple nod.
Enough to make them understand what was going on.
Oh, the Alpha finally got his mate.
Thank Moon Goddess, we finally have our Luna.
Maybe it was their reaction. I didn't pay much attention after all. My only focus was the girl who was in my arms.
I pushed my bedroom door open and laid Alice carefully on my soft and comfortable bed. A middle-aged woman came near me and bowed a little.
"Night, Alpha. How could I help you?"
I glanced at her. Ruth, the gamma at our pack. She had been serving me and my family forever. I didn't even remember when was the first time she came here. Maybe it was long before I was born.
"Please keep an eye on her. She will probably be freaked out when she wakes up, but other than that, she is almost harmless."
She nodded. I quickly pulled a blanket to cover Alice's body and left her with Ruth who was lighting up an aromatic candle. Lavender. Nice choice.
And now here we were. Looking at each other with extremely different stares. Mine was a loving one. But her? A frightened stare like a lost kitten being cornered by a bulldog.
Cute. Did she even realize how cute she looked right now? Crumpled under the blanket while inching away from me.
"Back off! Don't you dare to come closer, you creep!"
But I walked closer. I couldn't even resist myself and kept getting nearer to her.
"Easy, Luna. I won't do any harm to you!"
She hissed. A kitten looked alike much, huh?
"I'm not Luna! My name is Alice! And for God's sake, back off or I will jump from this window!"
I clicked my tongue. The game just escalated quickly into a hard mode. It would be easy for me to dash near her and hold her tightly. An easy task for an Alpha like me. I am even faster than any other werewolves. A human, a tiny girl to be exact, was no match for me.
"Watched out, Alice," I warned her. I was afraid that I might hurt her when bolting to her side.
Her eyes grew bigger and blinked a few times.
"What? Wait!"
It didn't even take one second for me to be near her. She couldn't even finish her words when I took her in my arms again and walked casually to the bed. She wriggled so much in my embrace. Her hands punched my chest although it didn't hurt me at all.
"Let me go! Fuck! Let me go!"
"Calm down, Alice!" I put her carefully on my bed and laid the breakfast I just carried in front of her.
"Calm down, eat your breakfast, and I'll answer all of your questions."
She was stunned and looked at me with a twisted look. There was only silence for what felt like a minute or so. Then a burping sound was heard. It was coming from her stomach.
I laughed and she threw away her face. Hiding the embarrassment that was painted all over it.
"You're hungry, Baby. Go eat some. I assure you there is no poison inside."
She glanced at the plate from her peripheral visions. A pretty big meal for breakfast, I believed. But hey, my mate couldn't be starving since she was already here. I would do anything to provide the best for her.
I marched slowly to her and grabbed a slice of lamb sandwich Ruth had made. I ate it and she stared at me as if she was checking the truth of my words.
"See? It has no poison, Alice."
She sighed and finally gave up. Her body shifted back to my direction and she started to grab the sandwich, shoved it into her mouth, and chewed it down.
"Thanks for listening to me," I said while smiling fondly.
Another silence. But this time was because she was just too invested in her food. I chuckled. How could she look so cute while eating a simple sandwich?
Dear Moon Goddess, thanks for choosing this girl to be mine. I will be forever indebted to you.
"So, I do have a lot of questions right now." She finally said some nice words after emptying a whole plate of sandwiches and fries.
I nodded. My hand reached out to a chair and pulled it closed. I sat there and paid full attention to every word she was about to say.
"I have a whole day for you."
She scoffed.
"First question, who are you?"
So this would be a long interview from her, I guessed. I leaned on the chair while crossing my feet on top of each other.
"Harvey Adkins. The Alpha of my pack. Next questions?"
She even didn't hesitate about the next one.
"How did you know about me?"
I was silent for a beat. Trying to put so many stories at once so she could understand it better.
"Let's just say, I know Edith's long enough to make me know you."
Her brows furrowed in confusion.
"Edith? You know my Mom?"
I nodded. Of course. There was no way I didn't know her considering our relationship with each other.
"Of course, Luna."
She cut my words and raised her hands.
"One more. What are those things you keep saying? Luna? Alpha? What the hell was that?"
I might combust because of how adorable she looked when she was confused. But the priority now wasn't hugging her into a bear hug. I should answer every question she had in her mind.
"You see, it was kind of difficult to explain. But to put it simply, those were the terms in the werewolf world."
She froze. I could even see every drop of her blood drained out from her face. She turned pale by my words and a wave of horror washed over her.
"Wait! Werewolf? Do you mean you are a werewolf?"
I nodded with the biggest grin I'd ever made.
"Yeah. Welcome to our world, Alice."
