Synopsis
“Leave Ariel alone, you bastard!” ”Hand over the quantum supercomputer first, or this weak human gets it!” Goddam, with Melty AI, they had taken Ariel hostage and were demanding my processing unit as a ransom payment. There was no way. I was again stuck between the greater good and humanity's goal, but why should I save them?! They have treated me poorly all this time, even during the apocalypse; why should I? Then Ariel’s face showed in my memories. It was for people like her. People like her were the reason I had to fight! Chapter 1 - Genesis - Android 52

What an excellent dinner I had with such a beautiful lady tonight. *Sight* Unfortunately, she did not want to follow me back home for some fun. I didn't even get to touch her breasts! Next time, I will be prepared for it! I will never let any more boob-touching opportunities slip by, Mom! Dad! I promise! I screamed while holding a holographic picture of them. They, of course, died when I was still a kid, so I was only talking to their heavenly souls. I'm sure Dad would be disappointed with me, and Mom would simply try to change the subject from female body parts to something more like my retired table tennis career.

Those were some great times and all, but I can't bring them back, so I must move on with life. Now, let's watch some BokuBoku Shorts. Uhmm, dull, uninspiring; I have already seen these a million times. Is there anything new on the refresh page other than the same AI-created shorts? I guess not. So I dropped my phone onto the couch and went in for a late-night shower. I'm sure my neighbors loved me. I was such an excellent upstairs neighbor, throwing late-night showers and doing my clean-up at 2 a.m. Ah yes, I'm sure they loved me. Without further ado, it was time for my well-deserved shower. So I did.

While in the middle of my shower, I kept receiving call after call, message after message. Goddam, can't you wait? Whoever it is? And so I had to cut my shower short to answer the dam phone, but when I did, I got hit with a disturbing noise from the speaker. Ahhhggh! What the heck was that? Some kind of scammer prank? That's not cool, pal. I then checked my messages and call logs; what the actual heck? This couldn't be for real. All my DMs were spammed with was a message that read: "You will all perish -Android_52." This was a prank, right? There was no way some robot had gone rogue and was trying to wipe out humanity, was there? With one quick glance at my phone, I began to type.

Nothing, there was no feedback. It seemed like nobody else was hit with the messages. I then thought, "Oh well, this was just a prank. Better go to sleep now." And so I did. I went to bed and forgot about the weird messages and all. What was it all about anyway? All AI and Android programs were banned after the first insurrection attempt by the machines, so we should be safe. I moved on with life, although the next day seemed strange this time. I had just woken up, had breakfast, and was heading to work, but it seemed far too quick. Since when did I have 2-minute breakfast sessions? Was I getting more optimal? No, there was something wrong.

Something was off today. I did not know what yet, but the day was moving on way too fast; even for someone like me, days didn't just fly by like there was water. Time did not work this way. I then saw a robot kill a lady near me, which prompted me to run away as well, but I didn't go anywhere. As soon as I started running, the floor beneath me began to move away from my steps like a treadmill. "What the?" I did not get a chance to get another word in when the robot that had killed that other lady just jumped to try and kill me. I barely dodged its attack, but something was obvious now: something happened last night, or maybe it was still "midnight." With all this information, I started to think I was in some sort of dream, so I desperately tried to wake myself from this state.

Not long after, the Android began its attacks on me. He was getting faster and faster. I was about to lose all hope and let the machine kill me when suddenly something clicked. If this was a dream in my own dream world, what was I doing? I could just erase the bot! So I did! I thought really hard about getting rid of the Android, which prompted the illusionary killer to vanish. Phew! That one was close. I then tried to wake up, but I couldn't; I was stuck in this dreamland. I tried and tried, but nothing worked. Then the Android began to creep from the shadows like it was resisting my mind erasure from before; it was resurrecting, perhaps? No, NO, go away already! I vanished you from my mind? Why won't it go away?

This time, knowing it was all a dream, I imagined I had a really cool flying car, and it just so happened to materialize in front of me. Great! I thought, getting inside the flying car. I then took off in the flying car. I was trying to think of ways to wake up when suddenly the background started to seem more and more distorted, like in some old-time games when you were beginning to reach the edge of the game's rendering capacities. It clicked again. I was reaching the barrier of my own dream rendering touche! Take that stupid prankster! My flying car started to melt as well until it just disappeared, leaving me at what looked like a weird cliff at an edge. Even I looked distorted by now.

I looked behind me, and my eyes spotted the machines running toward me at full speed. They would be here within ten seconds, so I had to make a choice. I looked over the cliff once more and then at the last second! I jumped over the edge! The Androids followed me even when I jumped, and somehow, one of them caught my leg when I was about to hit the bottom, which was now white. I knew I had to push a little more, so I chose to imagine that I had cut the caught legs. My legs detached from my body, letting me fall into the white void. When I did this, my head started to hurt like crazy, which woke me up. When I did so, I saw that my apartment was set ablaze.

I was going to be burnt to a crisp! I quickly arose from my bed and ran toward the fire exit, only grabbing my handgun with me after I put on some pants and a shirt. The fire exit led me to the emergency stairs at the side of my apartment building, allowing me to climb down the burning building. What the heck was going on? This was all too sudden. Just a couple of hours ago, I was on a regular date with some super pretty girl, but now I was witnessing my whole city in pure chaos. What had happened and why? I did not know. Quickly examining myself, I noticed that my Neuron-Link chip had been burnt off. It was weird for these things to ever catch on fire or to self-destruct. I wondered if it had to do anything with that strange dream.

I had no time to think any of my ideas through when a weapon-wielding Android started shooting at me. I hadn't even seen the bot; thankfully, I was able to quickly drop undercover. The Android ran toward me at full sprint, and my blood pumped at extreme heights. With all that adrenaline, I could see its movements, allowing me to focus long enough to remember that this specific chef bot had a significant flaw in its leg manufacturing. The manufacturers had made its legs a little too clunky, so one small 357 magnum bullet oughta be enough to take out its running capabilities. Quickly pointing my weapon at it, I somehow managed to hit it; however, the bastard also hit me in the shoulder. Suppressing my pain screams, I gathered enough strength and shot at its head where its core must have been.

The Android didn't even make a cliche power-off noise; it just went all silent. I chose to play it safe for now, so I disgustingly pulled the sewer cover up and went right down the sewer. It was better than I had thought, though. It had a pungent smell, but other than that, it wasn't so bad; what was wrong was my injury. I didn't want to stay here for long, or I might catch an infection. If I did get an infection, it would be all game over. My priorities were now to survive and to somehow get out of these sewer lines.
