Chapter 1 - Hemera Chronicles - Volume 1

Prologue - Creation

A long time ago, when the world was just an empty place, a being of pure energy coming from the stars ended up stopping on his journey to rest, but what he didn't expect was that this momentary stop would be his last, because in the middle of that In an immense void, he realized that something great could be created there and with that, using part of his essence, Hemera was created.

Over the years, several creatures were created by this entity and they would be divided into seven main species, being named as the Luphios, the Felles, the Tyrnas, the Selestinos, the Karybdis, the Daemons and finally the Draconis and all of them named such a creature as its great Creator and an era of peace was understood throughout Hemera.

After a long time, the Creator, satisfied with his work, decided that it was time for him to leave for the void with the souls of the dawn, but before his end he decided to leave one last attribute for each species of that new world.

"... My dear and beloved primordials, I come here to inform you that my journey to the beyond the void is getting closer and that is why I have decided to leave a small attribute for each of you.''

The Creator muttered such words as he sat on his throne.

The words were heard by everyone who was sitting in their welcoming seats, paying close attention to every word uttered there

The great leader of magic, the Primordial of the Luphios - Fergos.

The mother of all spirits and life, the Primordial of Tyrnas - Astrith .

Born from the divine spark personifying death and rebirth, The Primordial of the Selestines - Hel.

The servant of destiny and justice of peace, the Primordial of the Felles - Lenn.

Coming from the depths of the oceans, ruler of all underwater creatures, the Primordial Karybdis - Akka.

Created from the veins of the Earth and shaped by wisdom, the proud guardian, the Primordial of the Draconis - Demus .

And summoned from the depths of eternity, chosen by an ancient contract - the Primal of Daemons - Niels .

The destiny of this world was about to change, as there were new leaders who would mark history for thousands of generations, but now they were gathered before their Creator to hear his last order.

Everyone was surprised by such news, because how could it be possible for the greatest authority on the Planet to leave them.

"What do you mean my lord is trying to play some joke on us" replied Niels, already getting up from his seat.

"Calm down Lord Niels, our lord would not joke with such news, I myself noticed a few years ago that your divine essence was diminishing." said the silent Hel.

"Like this!!! If you knew you should have warned us!!! We could try to find some solution for our lord!!!"

"Even if we tried, it wouldn't do any good, his essence isn't like ours. Even if we are a small part of it, we are still born from this planet, thus being a particle of it."

"BUT...!!!"

"You two, silence. I know this is shocking news for all of us, but we still stand before our lord."

Fergos looked seriously at each one.

"My creator, I say here for everyone that we are in shock with this news, because what will become of Hemera without you?" Fergos asked, apprehensive about the answer that was about to come.

"My little children, I know this may be sad and a little arrogant of me, but this does not mean that I will leave Hemera, but rather I will be part of her."

An air of complete confusion settled in, causing the primordials to look at each other, but this didn't last long, as a loud laugh was heard, breaking the confusion.

"I see that even though they are the first of my creations, they are still young and have a lot to learn. Only with time comes maturity and wisdom.

Finishing speaking, the great master stood up from his great throne and with just a gesture of his hands, seven lights illuminated the great hall, giving shape to seven remnant crystals.

"See!, here is what is promised to you these seven crystals are the basis of all the power that I have been storing during my reign and each one holds the power and origin of each species that lives on this planet. With my departure, you, my beloved children, will be the legal guardians of each of them."

"But my beloved creator, are you sure about this? Couldn't you live longer with them and stay with us longer? Why leave now?"

Said the mother of all spirits.

"Tell me beautiful spirit, what would it be like in a world where we only had one season? In the beginning it would be beautiful, but with time everything would be the same and we would not have new experiences that other seasons favor us, with the end of my reign you seven will be able to choose your paths and be free."

The creator looked tenderly at young Tyrna.

"I understand, if that's what you want, I'm happy to be born into this world and be one of your creations."

"But my lord if you go to the dawn, who among us will be the chief ruler?"

Lenn asked, holding one of the crimson-colored crystals between his fists.

"Alas, there will be no Ruler."

"What do you mean there won't be? This is a serious situation. Without a regent to replace him, Hemera will fall into complete chaos and disorder, but it would be wise for you to choose a new regent from among us, as we are the first to be made by the lord." Demus replied with a slight tone of arrogance.

"That's right my lord, I agree with what Lord Demus said, don't you think sharing this power with just one of the seven species would be best? I nominate myself as the new leader, as I am the most capable of this task." He spoke loudly and clearly, the primordial Niels.

"THERE IS! A ruling daemon of hemera! Do not make me laugh! Your species is the most troublesome in all these years. The only thing you think about is yourself and nothing else." Akka asked.

"Hmm. I see you've finally opened your fishy mouth to say something. I was already thinking that it was another one of your illusions present here."

"I may have been the last one to arrive among the seven of us, but I have never caused as much trouble as the daemons and draconi, their species are too troublesome and violent to be in charge."

"Don't you think you're being lenient, Lady Akka, blaming us for all the problems? Your species is the most frightening among the seven and they still choose to use barbaric methods in simple matters."

"That's right, don't throw false information at us, especially my kind. We have been here long before you two and what we do, even if it seems problematic to you or the rest of the room, we still fulfill our duty to protect our master and people of Hemera."

Demus just spoke, as his kind was responsible for everyone's safety.

There was nothing to do in this situation since it was customary for this to happen when the seven species got together, as both species, even though they were of the same origin, were still rivals among themselves.

Seeing that the situation would not end anytime soon, leader Fergos was willing to speak.

"All of you calm down, and stop attacking each other. We are here to listen to our master and this ridiculous fight only tarnishes your reputation."

With the end of his speech, Fergos looked straight at his master, making a gesture to continue what he was saying before all that commotion.

Demus, Akka and Niels looked towards Fergos and at the same time thought.

"... There goes our master's favorite..." but finally they followed Fergos' order.

Seeing that everyone had calmed down, the Creator hit his large staff on the ground, making the structure of the place change to a large global map showing all the domains on the planet.

"Well, I'll pretend that all this didn't happen, because I see that each crystal has already chosen its rightful guardian, and that makes me more relieved. As for Niels' doubt, I myself chose not to leave any of you as regents, as this could trigger more conflicts between you."

When he finished speaking, a large beam of light originated from his staff, activating the cores of each crystal present there.

When the Primordials saw this, they were surprised, as a line of light emanated from each crystal, showing an exact point on the map where only they could see their locations.

"Um... I see you managed to connect with them, as your attention was completely focused on the map."

The creator laughed.

"Master, what are we seeing? What is this point on the map?" Fergos questioned.

"Your crystals have connected to your origins, thus making an eternal bond with each person's species, for now they have the signature of your essence and no one, except me, can change that."

"But what about this marking on the map?"

"Ah, these are the locations that your crystals found best for each of you, as in these regions you would be better suited to lead your species... cough ... cough ."

"Master!!!" everyone said in unison.

"No need to worry, it was just a simple cough, I'm not so weak that I'm dying right now."

The creator laughed with a slight smile on the corner of his mouth, to show that everything was still fine, thus making everyone calm down.

After a few more orders, the creator ended the meeting and all the leaders present joined their people, moving towards their new domains. Even so, the much-fated day arrived and the death of the creator was the trigger point for an era of wars that was to come.

In a small hut in the middle of a dense forest near a village, a book is closed by a cub luphio.

"Master Elias, why couldn't the seven clans live in peace as the creator said? How long is the duty to protect your crystals?'' said the little cub, waiting for the reddish feline's response.

"Greed and envy was one of the reasons for triggering such acts against the other clans, my little Midnight, when the Daemons and Draconis allied themselves against the luphios and other species, the fragile balance that Hemera had ended up breaking, thus creating an era of wars that would last millennia to end."

"But how did the war really end?"

"We don't know for sure, but history says that due to the atrocities that Lords Niels and Demus did, the leaders Fergos and Lenn, together with the goddess Hel, had to sacrifice themselves to end the wars and bring about this era of peace between two a thousand years."

"But what about the other clans and their crystals? As I said here in the book, weren't they a great source of power?" Midnight asked.

"With the death of the primordial Fergos, the Luphios crystal ended up being destroyed and its people hunted by Daemons, while the Selestines and Felles crystals ended up choosing new leaders, the Tyrnas don't really know what happened to them, as their leader and his clan were never seen again."

"Ah, but then…"

Just as Midnight was about to ask one more question, the sound of the clock in his room showed that it was already late and that it was past his bedtime.

"Well this afternoon. You better go to sleep, we have a lot of things to do tomorrow, especially you, who have magical training right before dawn."

Elias took the book from his pupil's small hands and left towards the door of the place.

"Oh yes, you would show me how to summon a familiar, I can't wait to see what kind of creature will appear huhuhu."

The little cub laughed.

"Well, if you really want to know, then you better go to sleep soon. I don't want to see you falling asleep again, the last time that happened I had to clean up your mess for three days."

He said with a tired look.

"Now enough talking and go to sleep."

Before Midnight could retort, her master had already closed the door to her small room.

"Why does he always have to be so annoying sometimes?" He thought.

Adjusting himself on his bed, the little puppy gradually fell into a light sleep, but this did not calm the excitement that was visible on his face.

The little luphio fell asleep, but inside him a small voice could be heard, which only he could have heard.

"- I finally found you."
