Chereads / Dearie System / Chapter 17 - Reunion

Chapter 17 - Reunion

The next day, I was researching about the Occult Organization as Vance's stunt had me more curious about them. I had a feeling if I researched about them, I would also find some secrets dealing with the Sacred Verses. Daisy watched as I used their library and smiled at my hard work.

"Cloudy, you should really take a break..." Daisy said and watched me look for books.

"Can't. Vance could learn new tricks from this Occult Organization and come strike me harder. I need to be ten steps ahead." I said as I pulled out a few books.

"Ten steps ahead...Leo taught you that one huh?~" Daisy asked and smiled.

"Yeah. He's survived this long because he was always ten steps ahead. I need to be the same. Being ten steps ahead will give us the definitive advantage we need to stop the System Wielders and the Occult Organization that wants to acquire these Sacred Verses." I said as I walked toward the table.

I sat down and opened a few books and, scanning through them one by one. Dearie helped me scan then made a beeping sound, highlighting one of the books. I looked at the book she highlighted and looked at the over then smiled. I gave Dearie some head pats and she made happy sounds.

"Here it is...The Nexus. That's their name huh?" I asked.

Daisy scooted closer and looked at the book as well. "Seems like it...I wasn't even aware of this book. I mean I'm rarely in the library to begin with so."

I looked at Daisy then smiled and looked back at the book. I began to read about The Nexus and read a few reports that were in the book.

"REPORT 01 - Nexus Uprising"

"We finally created the Organization that worships our God named Nexus. After many let downs and set backs...our trials and errors paid off in the end. It seems like Nexus is finally responding! Our pathway to the Heavens is only a few short steps away! We will finally reach the highest layer of Heaven: Undl. First we need to open the gates to Elo before anything else. Maybe some help from the dead Ancient Ones will suffice? I don't know, but maybe soon...we will have some answers."

"Report Written By Tempest."

"Tempest?" I asked and looked at Daisy.

"She's one of the first Agents that used to work for Dearie Corps before she went rogue and helped create the Occult Organization. She's rather strong, and I believe the only one who can match to her power is Arabella." Daisy said.

"Arabella...I haven't seen her fight before. When we were in Woodcrest, she was the only one who didn't really engage in combat." I said.

"Her abilities are still unbeknownst to me as well. The only one who knows what Arabella is capable of is Everleigh because she's her sister. Other than that, no one can say for sure. We do know Everleigh and Arabella have similar abilities. We don't know the name for it however." Daisy said.

"I see..." I nodded and read the second report.

"REPORT 02 - Dearie Corps."

"Damn them all! They ruined everything! We have to restart! We have to relocate! Arabella...Luke...Leo they destroyed the one thing that was going to help us ascend to Godhood! Why?! Why are they stopping us?! Our goals were so close! I'm sure they will find this book and I haven't even started my actual plans yet! The Connector to Heaven can not be stopped! This will be the last report for now...Arabella watch your back. I will make you suffer for what you've done..."

"Report Written By Tempest."

"And it ends there, but all it told was a bit of their plans and nothing about the Sacred Verses...Dearie did you find anything on the Sacred Verses?" I asked.

"Negative. Hypothesis: There is an Ex-Agent who works as a Priestess at Golden Cross Church. Proposal: Go to Golden Cross Church and speak to the priestess." Dearie said.

"Hm...I guess since these Sacred Verses do come from Heaven, it would be logical to ask someone from the church. Alright, set the coordinates to the church." I said then stood up.

"You're actually going?" Daisy asked.

"Yeah, why? You want to join as well?" I asked.

Daisy stared at me then smiled. "Well...since you offered~"

"Come on let's go." I said and watched the books disappeared back into their original places.

Daisy and I left the library and rode the elevator down to the first floor then left the building.

"We have arrived." Dearie said.

I got out of the car and noticed how abandoned the church looked. "It looks abandoned..."

"Analysis: This church was abandoned years ago. The inhabitants of this church are faithful believers of the Goddess known as Alpha." Dearie said.

Daisy got out of the car then crossed her arms and looked at the church and closed her eyes. She was hesitant to even move. "I think I wanna stay out here."

I looked at Daisy and tilted my head in confusion. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know...I guess I'm not ready to face her yet. This Agent and I have history... I'm not ready to be in her presence just yet..." Daisy said.

I walked over to Daisy and caressed her cheek then made her look at me. "You're not going to be alone in there. I'll be with you..."

Daisy's cheeks became rosy as she looked at me. She calmed down and smiled a bit. "Okay..."

I kissed her cheek then smiled at her. "C'mon.."

Daisy nodded and followed me inside the church. I opened the doors and noticed a woman and a few other people in white robes praying in front of a large Golden Cross. I looked at my arm and noticed my marking shine brightly.

"After years of avoiding your retribution, you finally come to face me. Maybe our beloved Goddess has finally touched your heart and made you see the error in your ways...Daisy." The main woman said and turned to face us.

The Agent before us was a beautiful woman with wavy ankle-length blonde hair that is braided back by a black bow with bangs hanging over her forehead, mostly hanging on the right side, and chest-length hair strands which hang on either side, pale gold eyes that are covered by a black blindfold, full pink lips and a voluptuous body. She wore white robes with blue outlines and a golden decoration around her hip.

For some reason I felt like I recognized this woman as if I've seen her in my past before. Faint memories entered my mind and I grunted softly, holding my head.

"Mihr...I didn't mean to cause your blindness and you know that! You literally were becoming corrupt and I had to stop you...your injuries on that unfaithful day...were injuries that could've been avoided if you hadn't fell into your own selfish desires." Daisy said.

"Selfish..? Is it selfish for wanting a peaceful world that lives without the power of the truly corrupt Wonder Star? Is it selfish to want all life at peace under the divine protection of Alpha? You all only care about your precious Wonder Star, a Stellar Body that comes from a dimension far away...a False Entity...I will bring you all back to reality and show you the light of the world...Prepare for your Retribution!" Mihr said and summoned her sword and scales then combined the two.

"Alert: Mihr is prepared for battle. Proposal: Defeat Mihr." Dearie said.

I grunted and looked at Daisy. "Ahh shit...I just wanted some answers, but no we've got to fight an Agent!"

Daisy braced herself then her eyes shined. "We have to settle things first before all else!"

Daisy dashed toward Mihr then propelled herself toward Mihr then went for a roundhouse kick. Mihr dodged her kick and countered with a palm strike to Daisy's stomach. Daisy coughed a bit then was blasted away into a pillar. Mihr pointed her sword at Daisy then fired orbs of light at her. Daisy quickly got up and evaded the orbs of light then clapped her hands together and created two Astral Clones of herself then the clones rushed toward Mihr.

Mihr scoffed then gracefully slashed in a circle, launching a crescent wave of light energy at the clones. The crescent wave sliced through the clones and rushed toward Daisy. I ran toward Daisy's aid and pressed a Light Blast against the crescent wave, causing an explosion that blew me away.

"Claudio!" Daisy said in a worried tone and hurried over to me. "Claudio, are you alright?!"

I grunted lightly and sat up slowly. I groaned softly and held my back. "Y-Yeah..."

"Foolish Human. You lack the necessary power to face off against an Angel, but I admire your bravery to aid Daisy...but I believe you should sit this one out." Mihr said and pointed her staff at me then holy chain and shackles locked me against the wall.

"Mihr! Let him go!" Daisy said and looked at Mihr in anger.

"And let him keep believing a false facade that you keep? I know why you keep so close around him. You're lost without him... you couldn't keep your first lover in check, or rather...he couldn't keep you in check. You don't truly care for Claudio..." Mihr said.

"That's a lie! I care about Claudio deeply now let him go, before I get pissed off!" Daisy demanded.

Mihr slightly rose her head and pointed her sword at Daisy. "I'll let him go...if you manage to defeat me in battle. A classic Agent Battle. If you lose...he comes with me."

Daisy stood up and glared at Mihr then took off her hat. "We don't have time for this shit."

"Oh we have time... You're just afraid that you will lose everything. Judgement has been calling your name. Your sins have been eating you from the inside and out. I shall cleanse you of your sins.." Mihr said then the blade of her sword shined.

I closed my eyes and lowered my head. "Do it."

Mihr looked at me then noticed the Live Decoy disappear and looked behind herself. She evaded my attack then watched the second Live Decoy disappear. "Hmm... Interesting, a decoy..? Where are you really?"

I ran toward her from behind and tried to strike her with a Light Blast, but she dodged me and elbowed my cheek, knocking me away. I stumbled backwards and held my cheek.

"I see...a human with mass Determination and the power of a Sacred Verse. I'm glad to see you in great condition Claudio, but do you truly believe...you can face me?" Mihr asked.

"I want answers from you and I won't stop until I've gotten them." I said and got ready to fight.

"I see...well prepare yourself because I won't be holding anything back." Mihr said and got into her fighting stance then her angel wings emerged from her back.

Mihr jumped in the air and came down with a slash, slamming her sword against the ground and generated a shockwave of light at me and Daisy. I dodged the shockwave then ran toward her. I went for an attack, but Mihr dodged me and went for a roundhouse kick. Daisy appeared in front of me and blocked the attack for me then used her Spiritual Pressure to hold Mihr down then struck her stomach with her hand covered in Spiritual Energy.

Mihr grunted as she slid backwards then noticed Astral Clones appear around her. Each clone rushed toward Mihr with an attack one by one, but Mihr evaded each clone the noticed one appeared above her. Daisy appeared where the final clone was then came down with an axe kick. Mihr caught her leg then spun her around and threw her. Daisy groaned as her back hit the wall.

"Analysis: Mihr is too strong for you. Proposal: Allow me to augment your Condition temporary. It will take some time." Dearie said.

I nodded and set a Live Decoy while Mihr wasn't looking and went off hiding while Dearie augmented my condition in her Support Mode.

"I must say, Claudio. You've done better than I could imagine...but after a while...I know when the real you isn't around." Mihr said and dodged my Decoy then sliced his head off, making him disappear.

Daisy dashed toward Mihr and used her Astral Projection to take over her body. Daisy's soul entered Mihr's body and she tried to defeat Mihr from the inside, but Mihr repelled Daisy's soul back into her own body then slashed at Daisy. Daisy constructed a shield from her Astral Energy then blocked Mihr's attack.

Mihr smirked then slashed in a circle, shattering Daisy's shield and knocked her away. Daisy rolled backwards then panted as she was on her hands and knees. Mihr walked toward Daisy and pointed her sword at Daisy.

"This is the difference between me...and Dearie Corps. Our two sources of power are not the same. You rely on a source that is doomed to vanquish one day, while my Faith in Alpha and The Almighty Yascha is my source which Spiritually Awakened me and granted me as much power as I need as long as my Faith in Alpha and Yascha is pure and unwavering." Mihr said and rose her sword to kill Daisy. "I shall save you of your sins now... anything you want to say before you go into the beyond?"

Daisy was silent then she spoke. "I'm sorry..."

Mihr stared down at Daisy. "All will be forgiven soon..."

Mihr was about to slash down, but paused when she felt a faint energy radiating from where I was and looked over at me. Daisy looked over at me as well and her eyes widened. I stood up from my hiding spot and the marking on my arm shined brightly and began emitting faint light energy.

'Is this his Spiritual Pressure...? No it's too weak to be considered that, but it's there...it's there...' Mihr said.

"I'm still not strong enough to face off against you, but I can try!" I said and formed a sphere of light energy in the palm of my hand then gripped my wrist.

'He's doing it... he's actually leveling up his Light Blast..!' Daisy thought to herself in awe.

Mihr watched I generated light energy from my surroundings to make my Light Blast stronger. She aimed her sword at me and charged up her sword beam. "You never cease to surprise me, ever since that day..."

"Dearie!" I called out.

Dearie created Live Decoys of myself and the Decoys rushed toward Mihr. Mihr rapidly fired light rays at the decoys and grunted at the sheer amount of decoys Dearie was creating.

'He's stalling for time, I'm ending this now!' Mihr thought to herself and dashed toward me.

I grunted as the sphere of light shined brightly. "Light Blast!"

Mihr groaned as the sphere of light caused a massive explosion around the church and a bright light shined that could be seen from the Golden Rock HQ.

The light soon disappeared and Daisy lowered her barrier and noticed I was being held in Mihr's arms. She stood up and hurried over to us.

Mihr looked at me then looked up at Daisy. She looked back at me and laid my head upon her lap. "He's always had this form of determination...that is why I favored to save his life that day when he was on his last dying breath. Claudio will always be...my best Miracle. The fact he went through such lengths as to waste his life to aid you in your time of need should spell everything out for you and the rest of Dearie Corps."

Daisy looked at me as I rested upon Mihr's lap. She held her hand to her heart and closed her eyes.

"Because of him, I will rejoin Dearie Corps...I wish to see him succeed as his Guardian Angel and his Miracle." Mihr said.

Daisy smiled a bit at Mihr and nodded. "I'm glad we can have you back...and truly...I'm sorry for what I did to you in the past.."

"All is forgiven...let us move forward now.." Mihr said.

"Right..." Daisy said.
